NYC Ebola Patient's Condition Worsens As Fiancee Returns Home
Zero Hedge ^ | 10/25/14 | Tyler Durden

New York City health officials have released Morgan Dixon, the 30-year-old fiancée of recently diagnosed Ebola patient Dr. Craig Spencer, to her West 147th Street Manhattan apartment where, as WSJ reports, she will remain under mandatory quarantine.

This 'good' news comes as New York's Department of Health issues a statement on the deteriorating condition of Dr. Spencer who "is entering the next phase of the illness, which is anticipated gastrointestinal symptoms."

This was expected apparently, as NYC's health commissioner Mary Basset noted, "we've seen with this disease that it continues to get worse before it gets better." A large CDC team is actively involved.

Maybe Obola should be hugging him for his photo op. Since its only transmitted by bodily fluids this shouldn’t be an issue.

There was an error in the temp. His temp was actually 100.3 not 103.

I read that it was 100.3 not 103.

Everything in her and the doctor’s apartment was not burned like Nina and Amber’s.

She should not go there IMO.

Also is she going to have a guard?

I am convinced he was sick before he reported it and was in denial until he could no ignore it.

I am convinced he was a narcissistic azzh0!e who, given his FREAKIN' JOB and the current situation, should have known better than to parade around NYC. Jackazz should be brought up on criminal negligence charges.

That’s what’s strange. It looks like they are lessening the protocols instead of strengthening them.

I gave Amber a pass because she followed protocol and asked the CDC if she should fly. This guy would have had to hear about Amber’s case and the lab technician who they removed from her cruise vacation. Yet he still went bowling, to a restaurant, and used public transportation. Also he is a doctor, not a nurse and should have been very knowledgeable about Ebola since he was treating patients in Africa with Ebola.

“That’s what’s strange.”

Yes it is.

Cuomo should pick her up and take her to the NY quarantine center. She is high risk.

All the experts that oppose flight bans need to take these people in as guests. Flight bans from hot zones don’t work so there should be nothing to fear.

I hope he heals quickly even though he made me angry for traipsing around NY city with Ebola.

You're much kinder than me.

I have the same suspicion. The nurses in Dallas started out with temps of 99.5 and he supposedly went from asymptomatic to 103 overnight? I don’t buy it.

It can happen. Back in the early 1970s I went to work feeling perfectly well and shortly thereafter, came down with a headache that worsened as my temperature climbed. Within 4 hours, I was sicker than a dog as I went from a normal temp to 105 degrees. I left work and went to my Dad's house and he probably saved my life by putting rubbing alcohol on me thereby dropping my temperature back to 99 or so. Parts of my body became swollen and I was pretty sick for a few days. To this day, I don't know what it was that hit me, but within a week I was back to normal and hiking and climbing at 14,000 feet in the mountains.

Right now he has Ebola, which to me says he’s suffering enough. After, IF he survives, he will face the wrath of the public and of course, numerous lawsuits.

Jewfro is infallible!

Meanwhile, pockets of infected who are illegals will present in the next 2-3 weeks.

No Macy’s parade this Thanksgiving.

I'd be surprised if he gave it to anyone (other than medical personnel). People are typically pretty sick when they are at their most contagious--he didn't have symptoms when he went out.

Would you wear the bowling shoes he had on the night before - or even stick your fingers in the ball?

If they've been disinfected, why not?

As a rule, I don't touch anything that other people have touched without disinfection. And I almost never get sick. There is a lot of stuff that is way more contagious than Ebola out there.

How would you verify proper disinfectant? Protective suits have been bypassed in efficacy by "medical professionals". Not rying to sound alarmist, but there is much we don't really know about the transmission while we do know it is deadly and that even a few cases can tie up a lot of resources and have detrimental effects on availability of care for other patients.

Having some bowling alley guy shoot a squirt of Lysol on the insides of shoes isn't disinfecting and I have never seen them go around cleaning out the finger holes or surfaces of bowling balls.

You are braver and more cavalier than I would be considering the adverse potential.
