A health care worker who was quarantined at Newark Liberty International Airport after returning from treating Ebola patients in West Africa developed a fever and was being evaluated Friday night.
The woman was the first person quarantined under a new screening system announced earlier Friday by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
The woman landed at Newark after treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said at the news conference. A legal quarantine was issued for the woman, who was not a New Jersey resident and was set to go on to New York afterward.
“This woman, while her home residence is outside the area, said her next stop was going to be here in New York,” Christie said. “Governor Cuomo and I discussed it before we came out here, and a quarantine order will be issued.”
At the time, she was not experiencing any symptoms. But Friday evening, she developed a fever and was in isolation at University Hospital in Newark, according to the New Jersey Department of Health....

Wait, wait, wait... Am I reading this right? A state had the sense to note someone was coming from an infected area, and placed an order of quarantine on the person, who later started displaying symptoms?
And this state is NEW JERSEY? (who of course immediately credits New York for the whole thing...)
That’s more than a bit of amazing. A state taking a proactive stance to contain a deadly disease.

Govenor, Chris Christie of New Jersey dragged Democrat, Andrew Cuomo of New York into joining with him to automatically quarentine, for 21 days, any foreigner or American returning to their states (NJ & NY) that had been in or come from an Ebola infected country!!! A major hats off to Governor Christie, for doing what our failed, incompetent, anti-American, Democrat, POTUS Barack (I adore my Muslim Brotherhood brethren) Hussein Obama failed to do....protect our USA citizens from this fatal infection!!!
Cuomo & that absolute, buffoon mayor of NYC, DeBlasio exposed the eight million residents of NYC, and the entire rest of the country..... just as Obama has done, by supporting the “Obama” weak rules of entry to the USA!!! Cristie said....”screw Obama”.......New jersey is going to quarantine anyone coming from an Ebola infected country for 21 days....no matter what!!! Coumo....weak Democrat, low life sister that he is....immediately joined Christie. The Democrat vermin has no choice but to hook up with Christie and support his actions!!! I think it’s entirely reasonable to note that, so far and knock on wood, there has been no transmission in America outside of highy intrusive medical care situations.
Which ties in well with my opinion from the beginning that it just isn’t very contagious in the early stages. Otherwise if WOULD have spread.

Imagine another Dr. ‘complaining’ because they quarantined her friend.....the medical professionals need their heads examined!!!
I do believe Cuomo took the exact same steps as Christie at the exact same time. They acted together.
Not from what I have read. They are just quarantining health care workers from those areas and screening the rest which leaves us still dealing with people like Thomas Duncan running around.

Likely already in the category of "contagious" prior to the fever. They keep up with the meme of "symptomatic = contagious" but there is unlikely such a fine line vs. an expanding window. No telling how many were put in high risk due to proximity as the fever began to build.
