Swedish military has called off the search for a 'Russian underwater vessel' thought to have been lurking in the Stockholm archipelago, after admitting that it was 'definitely not' a submarine. Navy top brass has today been forced to concede that although 'underwater activity' is confirmed, the military has ruled out the possibility that it could have been a Russian sub. This comes after Moscow blasted the hunt as 'groundless actions by the Swedish military, based on a Cold War-rhetoric'.

“Perhaps the “underwater activity” were humping whales, LOL!”
Or a Dutch Walrus...
Score one for Nessie. She’s vacationing in Sweden.
Or the Russians simply slipped away.
Had they turned the search over to the Swedish Bikini team, those bubbleheads would have surfaced and surrendered.
It is all about using the proper assets for the mission.
Or Chinese
Russian media assert that the submarine likely belongs to the Dutch Navy, IBT reported. Sweden has said that intercepted radio transmissions sent on an emergency frequency suggest that is not the case, the paper reported.

Or North Korean
Looks like the S.S. Nessie to me.
Probably American.
Last week, the Swedish navy explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of the Baltic Sea to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Lars Gustaffson of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Sweden’s local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its residents, and all those who seek a peaceful existence with our underwater ally.
Or Swedish.
“The Hunt for Red Free Willy”
I bet they were tracking a Russkie sub that got away
Old Leadbottom might have acted this way, but not Ensign Parker. First, he wouldn’t have noticed a sub had one been there. Second, he’d have sunk what he didn’t notice and added Leadbottom’s jeep to his trophy pile.
Moscow is flying bombers into other nation's air space, or very close to it, and yet it seeks to assure folks the idea a Russian submarine in someone else's territorial waters is just plain crazy.
Vlam, you're still a Poopin.
Do the Swedes have a line of sonar listening devices like we do on the ocean floor?
For decades a ‘Russian submarine hunt’ is a Swedish for ‘wag the dog’.
When something happens which might attract a public opinion in unfavorable way, government declares a Russian sub off coast, everybody gets out of the streets and every other scandal evaporates from media immediately.
Of numerous ‘sub hunts’ they had I think only one in earlier 1980s had any ground behind it.
Yes there is even a wikipedia page dedicated to swedish hunt for russian subs
