The media "wants to be on the right side of history" ??? What a joke. The liberal media has a set narrative for any confrontation involving blacks and whites.
Rule number One: the white party is automatically judged to be guilty before any facts are out.
Rule number Two: In case the facts don't fit the narrative, drop the story as fast as possible and move on to some other black-white incident.
Rule number Three: Even if all the facts prove the white party innocent, America is judged to be guilty due to past injustices, and the narrative is more important than the truth.

Speaking of being on the right side of history — if 2014 is a win for Republicans, and if 2016 is a win for Republicans, the media will be looking for scapegoats. They will not be able to avoid Obama. He will be the tarbaby (there, I said it). History will not look kindly on the President who allowed Republicans to get back into political power. The media — the media!! — will hate him for that.
