Ebola may have come to Harlem.
A 33-year-old doctor who recently returned from the disease-wracked West African country of Guinea was rushed Thursday to Bellevue Hospital with symptoms of the deadly disease.
Preliminary results of tests done on the doctor, identified by sources as Craig Spencer, are expected later Thursday, the citys Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said in a statement.
Spencer, who was one of the medics working in Guinea with Doctors Without Borders, had been back for 10 days and quarantined himself after developing nausea and a high fever, sources said.

Good think he wasn’t living in a high density urban environment. Otherwise, he might take public transit or something.
(Hope he’s negative or survives anyhow....)
Oughtn’t we quarantine all visitors and returnees from ebola hot spots? The good doctor was at least smart enough to do that himself. Others will not be so aware or diligent.
So wait, he ONLY quarantined himself AFTER developing symptoms or has he quarantined himself for the entire time he has been back from Guinea? I wonder what the left will think about Ebola in New York, after all, they have been giving Ebola big hugs and kisses for weeks
Obola strikes again!
New York City is much more concentrated population density wise than Dallas. Hope he was self-monitoring and stayed away from people, which is hard to do in NYC.
A number of doctors with ‘Doctors without Borgders’ have died of ebola.
Scratch Bellevue from ongoing operations, but hey,...............That's the fundamental change in America that New York voted for.
I hear the patient's IV solution bags are limited to 12 ounce sizes out of fear of violating the CDC Director's Big Gulp policies in New York City.
The Time Lord?
Well, there goes the neighborhood.
Oh, wait...
The way I’m reading this is he quarantined AFTER contracting the fever, nausea...
...and that’s why they’re trying to track down his contacts.
Dr. Nicole Lurie
Or...?
I Wonder what the salary for these two come to and how many underlings have they hired to man their bureaucracies also costing the taxpayer for piggy-back gov'ment jobs and perks.
Yippee! The good doc, just back from treating Ebola patients took public transport to a popular bowling alley LAST NIGHT!
This will RUIN Bellevue Hospital for quite a while!!
Amazing splits for a guy. Gymnast or ???
Anyway, anyone who volunteers for that kind of hazardous duty scores plus points for karma, but at least in this case, scores some karmic minus points by not self-quarantining.
Seriously? So what about that supposed self-inflicted quarantine?
Nope...its already ruined. Look at the "ebola-ready" room and nurses. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence:
Bellevue Hospital staff is seen demonstrating protective clothing it planned to wear if were treating an Ebola patient and on Thursday, a man who just returned from Guinea was rushed there with symptoms of the deadly virus.
Guy on the right is going to get the Obolas...and carry it home with him on the subway with those tennis shoes. That is after he is initially exposed on his scalp and neck!
If that’s the bowling alley I think it is, I’m betting he has salmonella and not ebola.
The doctor is an American citizen.
We cannot and should not ban him from his own country.
