Wednesday evening as protesters halted traffic. The incident was part of a protest in response to the Aug. 9 fatal shooting of a 18-year-old African-American by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo.
Atlanta police spokesman Officer John Chafee said a number of protesters were present on the Downtown Connector near Freedom Parkway. Their presence blocked traffic for a short time.
No arrests were made in connection to the protest, he added.

Deys don’t likes whitey cracker cops to tells them git outta da middle streets.
Saw the headline, only, and said: “Let me guess...”Hands Up! Don’t Shoot”.
Sometimes I hate it when I’m right. And, as usual, the I-75 Hot-lanta “protesters” have yet to be informed that Brown did not have his “hands up” prior to assuming ambient temperature.
Seems his cohort...kinda, sorta, maybe...made that part up.
LOL.
Darn, wish I was there. I would have run over those fools.
They’re 3rd worlders anywhere you put them. They’re doing for our major cities what they’ve done for Haiti.
Nothing makes people sympathetic to your cause like making them late....except for everything else.
I left Atlanta for good a little over a year ago. The city I called home for 45 years has become another casualty of decades of Democratic malfeasance and urban sprawl. Traffic in Atlanta rivals the Big Three and like Los Angeles, residents are generally unwilling to carpool.
90-120 minute commutes home were not uncommon for most whom I knew when I lived in the suburbs of this once-great city. There are no words to express the consternation I would have felt if I was in one of those vehicles in the graphic. Amazing that no one is going around this spectacle in the shoulder or median. My wife would not have been so respectful..that is a certainty.
About 20 years ago I was driving in Seoul. There were a lot of anti-govt riots at the time and occasionally they would target Americans. Anyway I was headed out of town with a fellow air force lady when we ran into a group. They jumped out in front of our pickup at an intersection. I was driving and my initial reaction was to stop because the repercussions of running someone over in that country were severe.
They started beating on the truck and trying to get our locked doors open. There were three people standing in front to keep us from moving while the rest tried to get at us. I locked eyes with the guy who seemed to be their leader and just eased the truck forward. They got out of the way before I ran them over and I got the heck out of there.
So from personal experience I agree with you, just make sure your doors are locked.

If you read the latest comments from the family’s lawyer, they will not be swayed by facts.
Bunch of unemployed black men blocking rush hour traffic... there’s something symbolic going on here...
Hit the gas pedal and run over these losers.
A bit ago, I was riding my mountain bike on the edge of the asphalt going opposite “traffic” on a four lane divided road in the middle of nowhere in the desert. I hadn’t seen a vehicle for several miles. Coming over a slight rise, a cop pulled his vehicle over with lights blazing to inform me that it was against the law to ride a bike opposite traffic. Not wanting to create a disturbance with the officer who was so thoughtfully enforcing the law, I went to the other side of the road. If only I had a furgeson protest sign and was an unemployed afrocan...
They also need to change the chant “This is what ... democracy looks like” to “This is what ... dumba$$ looks like.” Or maybe, “this is what ... doofuses look like.”
The only thing I’m surprised about is that these protestors are still alive. I’m shocked that the commuters didn’t run them down and keep going. The commute is so bad in Atlanta that road rage is everywhere.
A few years ago some guy got up on an overpass and threatened to jump right at rush hour. The traffic had been stopped and people were getting out of their cars and screaming “jump” at the guy. They were furious.
Highly unlikely since those cars are most likely people driving to work.
"RAMMING SPEEEEEED!!"
