Dallas health officials say Ebola patient Nina Pham's dog has tested negative for the deadly disease.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Bentley has been in quarantine since Pham's diagnoses last week. Dallas Animal Services has been overseeing his care.
Samples taken from him on Monday show he does not have Ebola. New samples will be taken and tested at the end of his 21-day quarantine period.
Pham is being treated at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. She is currently listed in good condition.
Yikes... mixing up all the news. I was thinking of the Spanish Nurse’s dog, Excalibur.

It does make me wonder how many nurses are going to be willing to remain in the profession...at least in a hospital. They are exposed to so much already...but with Ebola your family is really facing a big danger, you risk being whisked away to a fed facility, you could very well lose all/most of your personal belongings in a dwelling clean-up...and your dog could be put down.

I tried to find out if other pets such as Cats could carry Ebola. The consensus appears to be that no such studies have even been conducted. There is no yes or no answer to be found.

Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine missed an excellent opportunity with Bentley.
I have read that A & M is involved.
I have to agree. As maligned as the Aggies are...they have one of finest vet schools in the country. :)
