OTTAWA SHOOTINGS UPDATE 19: Obama to hold a briefing in a half hour

President Barack Obama is watching the situation in Ottawa very closely.

The CBC reports Obama will be holding a briefing in the next half hour. The U-S Embassy in Ottawa is on lock down. The front doors of the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC have been locked but staff is allowed to come in and out.

Ottawa police say no arrests have been made in today’s shootings in Ottawa. They do not have anyone in custody. One shooter is confirmed dead. The R-C-M-P is expected to be out with an update in the next 30 minutes.

Well, since one of the shooters is dead, they may have knowledge at this point of other eminent threats or potential targets. That’s the only thing I can think of that would make the US posture wake up and Obama give a speech. Otherwise, what could he possibly say??

The FBI is involved, so I’m also guessing something crossed a threat board at some point. If there’s one more loose, than there’s no reason to suspect there’s not more than one more loose. There was a plan here and that alone compels a more robust response.
