(Reuters) - A newly disclosed autopsy of the unarmed black teenager whose killing by a white police officer set off months of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, suggests he suffered a gunshot to the hand from close range, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reported.
The St. Louis County medical examiner's autopsy of 18-year-old Michael Brown, obtained by the newspaper and published online late on Tuesday, said a microscopic examination of his hand tissue showed particles "consistent with products that are discharged from the barrel of a firearm."
Forensic experts interviewed by the newspaper said the material indicated Brown's hand was close to officer Darren Wilson's weapon when Brown was shot Aug. 9. However, the autopsy noted there was no "powder stipple," or residue often left by guns fired at close range.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report. Representatives for the St. Louis County Office of the Medical Examiner could not be reached early on Wednesday.
Police and witnesses have said that Brown was first shot during a struggle with Wilson at the officer's vehicle and then fatally shot after fleeing.
The medical examiner's autopsy revealed that Brown had THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, in his system when he was killed. An expert quoted by the Post Dispatch said he "may or may not have been impaired."

We always hear about the reasonable man theory in the law. “What would a reasonable man do in this circumstance given this evidence?” Well, one would think that if the perpetrator was in the police car assaulting the officer, and trying to wrestle his weapon from him, and was shot, a reasonable man would assume he stepped in the doo-doo big time.
On the other hand, the Michael Brown supporters, protesters, white-cop haters and that race pimp, Sharpton, are all in denial, if they think this “gentle giant” (who was everything but), could get stoned on some weed, then rob a store, assault the store clerk and then a police officer in his squad car and not suffer any consequences. They’re all up in arms (no pun intended) over racial hatred against the white cops and want their faux justice but the facts are seeming to lead to another conclusion.
“What was Brown’s intention in taking the officer’s weapon?” His intent was to do harm to the cop and get away with thieving and assault. Unfortunately for him and his family, it turned out a little differently than he planned.
So was Zimmerman’s case, but that fact did not stop them.
Good to see most comments there are supporting Wilson, or are sick if the black racist SOB’s stirring the pot.

There is one difference tho, there were no riots over Martin, but brown, the riots have been nonstop. This is the way I expect its going to be from now on. I don't think most people know what the inner city is like. (I worked there for a while) It's a very different world. Practically everyone there who hasn't been in trouble with the law, has a friend, or a relative who is in jail or who was in jail. Most of the kids are out on the street all day when they aren't in school, with no adult supervision. And so much there romanticizes the thug life, the music, the clothes, the tough street attitude. This is why it always seems so many always seem to side with the criminals, It's because most do, it's deeply imbedded in their culture.

My parents raised us to be color blind, and I was shocked at some of the things they said last time I visited. I don't think they're becoming racists in the sense of thinking black people are bad or inferior, but they have definitely concluded that there's a black subculture that needs to be confronted and held accountable.

Anyone know what sidearm is issued to the Ferguson PD? The claim is that Brown’s hand blocked the hammer from hitting the firing pin and that Williams fired after that. Does this hold water since there are not too many autos with second strike capability?
