Honest question: how does one turn a medical facility into a top-rated Ebola treatment center overnight?

What are they expecting? I thought the current outbreak was limited and winding down.
Interesting (not that I believe them).

University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston has been researching the Ebola virus on site for 10 years and has the physical facilities to handle it safely. UTMB Galveston earlier agreed to accept and dispose of Ebola medical waste from other locations. I could see them adapting a portion of their facility as an Ebola treatment center quite readily.
If there must be an Ebola treatment facility in South Texas, I'm actually relieved it will be at UTMB Galveston. I have more than a passing interest since our home is on the water about 30 miles from UTMB and often down wind of the Biosafety Level 4 (BSL4) lab. :-)

Bring Out Your Dead
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
