Agree, goes back to the Crusades. For the U.S. It starts with the Barbary Wars. It you put this East/West struggle of civilizations in perspective, the periods that Islam has been subdued were when it’s been dealt with severely. Islam and Muslims respect only power and the use of it with brute force. The “can’t we all just get along” crowd here in the west seem to have trouble understanding this.
