Surveillance Video Apparently Catches Guy Doing Something at the Ballot Box

An Arizona county party official said he saw a man stuffing “hundreds” of ballots into the ballot box and later told a local news outlet the entire incident was caught on surveillance video.

“A person wearing a Citizens for a Better Arizona T-shirt dropped a large box of hundreds of early ballots on the table and started stuffing the ballot box as I watched in amazement,” said A.J. LaFaro, chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party.

The Maricopa County GOP chairman provided the Arizona Daily Independent with the following account of what happened during the Aug. 26 primary election cycle:

Guy: “What’s your problem?”

LaFaro: “I don’t have a problem.”

Guy: “Stop watching me. You’re annoying me.”

LaFaro: “One of your ballots isn’t sealed.”

Guy: “It’s none of your business. What’s your name?”

LaFaro: “I’m the chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party. What’s yours?”

Guy: “Go f*** yourself. I don’t have to tell you who I am.”

LaFaro said he later submitted a public information request and obtained this surveillance video from 12:30- 1:30 on Aug. 25 (audio unavailable):

LaFaro said it all happened as he was working with the elections staff during early ballots processing. The team in charge of processing the ballots got “way ahead” so the information systems coordinator convened an extended lunch period from 11:30- 1:00 p.m.

It was between 12:54 and 1:04 that LaFaro said he was seated at one of the cubicles, heard a loud thud and turned around to see the man who he claims was caught on tape stuffing “hundreds” of ballots. LaFaro described the man as a “vulgar, disrespectful, violent thug” with “no respect for our laws.” He said he would have followed the man to his car to get his tag number but “feared for [his] life.”

“America used to be a nation of laws where one person had one vote,” LaFaro said, the Daily Independent reported. ”I’m sad to say not anymore.”

On its website, Citizens for a Better Arizona says it is an “outgrowth of the grassroots movement that led to the historic recall of former [Republican] President of the Senate Russell Pearce.” The group is ”committed to improving the quality of life of all Arizonans – better schools, better health care, better jobs, better government and a better, more civil tone of respect and decency.”

TheBlaze has attempted to contact Maricopa County officials to find out whether any investigation is ongoing. Such attempts have been unsuccessful as of the time this story was last updated.

As much as I can’t stand that group, this appears to be “allowed” by Arizona Elections law.

http://www.azsos.gov/election/Electronic_Voting_System/manual.pdf

After they have securely sealed the voted ballot inside the early ballot return envelope, voters may voluntarily give their voted early ballot to a person of their choice for delivery to the Recorder or a polling place. The designated person shall not tamper with theenvelope or the ballot and shall not deliberately fail to deliver the ballot to the Recorderor a polling place within the voter’s county of residence.

It’s way past time to be “stunned” and get with the follow through.

Time to go poll watch in liberal-land.
Be prepared to video and report.
Be prepared to “respond” to aggressive offenders.

AKA our friends in Philly or this clown in AZ.

That particular ballot box should have been sealed, segregated and handed over to the county election officials for individual verification of each ballot contained therein. If that couldn’t be arranged, the box should be set aside and not included in the final election tally.

I checked my early ballot first, it said to mail or return to polling place. Then I checked the almost 400 page Elections manual.

They could “help” a captive audience request their ballot online, and then “help” that same audience by returning the ballot.

It could be rife for fraud. I wonder if someone other than the “voter” is turning in ballots at a polling place, there could be some type of sign in, but I suppose that would be racist or be a type of polling tax. (last part is what a lib would claim).

The appearances of a guy coming in and just stuffing these in without asking anyone working at the polling place, at best looks inappropriate and at worst, ballot box stuffing.

I’m sure all the ballots were authentic and filled out by real people.../s

We need polling station monitors armed with camcorders or ready to use their cell phones to catch the leftist Obama supporting cheaters in the act...

I will lay bets many “people” didn’t know they voted.

I figured whatever he was doing was legal. Nobody batted an eye at the guy with handsful of ballots.

The real stuffing takes place out of public view.

I think the ballots are in envelopes, and the envelopes are signed by the voter. The precinct workers are supposed to validate the signature vs. what is on file, and if that matches, the ballot goes to a ballot box.

This is part of early voting. I usually turn in multiple ballots for family members and even some non-family members who ask for help in voting.

Democrats, on the other hand, collect ballots, door to door and help people fill them out. . In WA, the auditor will give out the information about who has turned in their ballot and the parties will call all those who have not been checked off. The difference between the parties is that the democrats have college students making the calls from home, at all hours, who will even offer to come by and pick up the ballot.

I never vote early so I don’t know how they do it here in TN. I know we have absentee ballots but have no idea on paper early ballots.

I just emailed a couple of gals in our local Republican Women’s Group to ask. Some of the women have worked at the polls and if the two I emailed haven’t, they can ask those who have. I hope I get an answer because I’m certainly curious now. Like you said, it could be rife for fraud.

It’s just wrong on several levels. With all the time people have to vote these days, there’s no excuse for this. If someone can’t physically make it to the polls, they can mail in an absentee ballot.

Just makes my hair stand on end to see what goes on.
