Michelle Knight is the one who, when she was kidnapped, it was assumed she had run away. No one was even looking for her; they had to figure out who she was when the ladies got free. She has son who was adopted, assuming she abandoned him....the family didn't take in the child. Last I heard, she was not allowed contact with the child and he had no knowledge of who he is. (I sure hope that changed). She was physically and emotionally the one that seemed most damaged.

Thank god if she can find peace with her nightmare. She's a stronger person than I could ever be.

I read her biography, and what this woman’s been through is tragic, sadly, even more so than the other two girls Castro captured. She came from an abusive home, was raped by a family member and became teenage mom. As she was very short (like 4’11’)and had learning disabilities, Castro though she was younger than her 21 years when he captured her. In his sick mind, he thought she tricked him, as he desired young virgin, so he heaped extra abuse on her.

She had several pregnancies, each one ending in miscarriage after Castro beat her. Then he would blame her for aborting his children. Knight is now incapable of bearing children due to the lack of any medical care for over 11 years. She mourned each loss of life, as the children conceived were more of Castro’s innocent victims.

In her book her one reason for living was her son, Joey, who was adopted by another family. The family who adopted him did send her a few pictures, so she has that, but that’s all she has. He doesn’t know about her and she hasn’t seen him since before she was taken.

Because of her experiences, Knight maintains a positive attitude and respect for all life, and is very much pro-life in regards to abortion. She’s trying to cope with something that was so horrifically unimaginable, so she deserves a break.
