We are both part of NATO, so yes, they are an ally.

I agree wholeheartedly. Turkey is not an ally. Turkey was once an necessary and good ally when we were facing down Soviet aggression and trying to contain their ability to project power into the Mediterranean. While Pooty-Poot is still a threat our biggest threat is Islamic fundamentalism metastasizing into an Islamic superstate. The most likely candidate to head up a new caliphate is turkey due to history, strategic location, and their economy.

NATO US Turkey - When you go to bed with a monster you become one or you are destroyed. Both options are on the table...but it is probably too late.
