They are in daily contact with the people in Liberia. They are staying at local hotels and eating local food. We no longer expect to get the truth or a logical explanation from our Govt and that includes the military political officers.
Common sense tells us that our troops run the risk of being exposed to this disease. So this wise latino general is just covering for the regime.

They are staying at local hotels and eating local food. Right you are. And let me tell you how stupid I am. When I first heard of our troops going to west Africa, I automatically assumed they'd be setting up their own base, with their own food supply and with a strictly controlled perimeter.
How stupid I was to assume that.

Great, great post. Therein is the problem. They are in a contamination zone. I've read that only a small percentage of the infected are identified and hospitalized. That means that many in the initial stages of ebola are simply out there in the neighborhood..
