The case for voting Republicans, even those you think are Rinos
10/18/2014 | chrisnj

Posted on 10/18/2014 4:45:34 AM PDT by chrisnj

Many conservative voters are disillusioned at the Republicans for not standing up for their principles, for compromising with the Democrats, for having no spines etc. etc. They vow not to vote for the Republicans, or outright vote for the Democrats, to send them a message, to teach them a lesson. I think this kind of message/lesson serves no purpose but to cut off your own supply of oxygen.

Almost all the Republicans rejected obumbocrap (obamacare) but Harry Reid and his crooked Dems jammed it through deviously. The House Republicans have passed many legislations to repeal obumbocrap but Reid et al killed them all. The House Republicans have passed many good legislations but Reid and his crooks buried them all. The media blasted the Republicans on all their good constitutional/conservative acts, but remained silent on the Democrats' constant acts to destroy the constitution. This is a known fact and all of us always complain about it. Yet we are not showing any understanding of the difficult situations facing the House Republicans. While the Dem voters are behind their Dems 100%, we are demanding perfection while offering no help. We blame the Republicans for this and that but we are not working hard to create an opportunity or situation where they can stand on their principles and serve us faithfully. Why don't we vote them into majority in both House and Senate, so they have more control and feel less pressured to compromise, but more encouraged to listen to us to enact constitutional legislations for the good of the country. This is not excuses for the Republicans' non-performance. It is simply a fact that a good person can only do so much under difficult situations! We should understand that it is human nature to be rather weak, especially when under pressure. But given the favorable situations we are more likely to stand up taller for our principles. Remember when the Republicans were the majority in both Houses - even with a Democrat president Clinton, Congress was able to serve the people well! So if we are able to vote the Republicans into the majority, we just might be able to influence them into reversing the course to get our country back on the right track. Considering that many people have awaken and patriots are much more enthusiatically engaged in shaping government policies, we can realistically hope to get better leaders who will listen to the people again. All we need to do is unite and vote the crooks out but vote the acceptable albeit imperfect Republican candidates in, then work hard to influence them...

Certainly, with rampant voter fraud, ignorant and low-information voters, AND, the conservatives who vow to stay home or vote for the Dems, there is no hope that the Republicans will be in control of both Houses. It was said that those conservatives who wouldn't vote for the Republicans are part of the reasons why the Dems won the elections. So these conservatives are in effect cutting off the supply of oxygen to their own hopes (and our hopes)!

History suggests that the Republicans are more constitution-abiding leaders. We need to create the opportunities for them to abide to the constituion - by voting them into majority and then pressuring them into serving the people the way they should.

Yardstick:

So? Don't listen.

Watch your GOP-E spineless wretches and enemies of the republic lose by ever increasing margins each and every election. When you (that's YOU, not we) have lost often enough and had your taxes raised high enough and regulations tightened hard enough, perhaps you will get the message that it is time for some new navigation. $$$$$ is not enough of a reason to elect a candidate. Nor is the fact that the candidate, however horrible, is NOT Obozo or the Arkansas Medusa.

If you nominate a radical leftist like Myth Romney to run against a Demonrat radical like the Arkansas Medusa, the base as well as the public gets the message. We will have a radical left regime one way or the other, Do we want the competent brand name article: Hillary? Or do we want the phony knockoff radical incompetent Myth Romney? The base will suffer nausea and refuse to vote. The public will choose competent radicalism.

Keep on letting Wall Street and K Street nominate unprincipled trash like Myth Romney and keep on being beaten by Demonrat radicals. Republicans love people TOOOO is not as successful a slogan as See the USA in your Chevrolet! Never has been. Never will be!

Conservatism most certainly CAN WIN. Reagan did it twice by landslides. The problem is that conservatism has to be tried in order for it to win. Wall Street and K Street and the US Chamber of Crony Socialism exist to see to it that conservatism is NEVER tried again. It worked far too well under Reagan not to be a clear and present danger to each and every corrupt, tax-funded, special interest and business crook in the land.

AND, that's CONSERVATIVES not "purists."

Thats because they WANT socialism. they simply refuse to say what their actions, votes and fighting viciously for liberals shows.

I mean if not, it would be patently stupid to try claiming that fighting to get liberal republicans into positions of power was a conservative thing to do. And really how utter MINDLESS would one have to be to try passing that off on a conservative website?

Oh wait....nevermind.

Do YOU think that Myth Romney will resist abortion? Resist the agenda of “gay” everything? Protect religious liberty? Protect freedom of speech? Resist illegal immigration? Foster real jobs at real wages for Americans? Maintain a firm foreign policy? Fight the envirowhackos? Appoint constitutionalist judges and no others? Need I go on?

The point is you’re meaningless. The very few people who won’t vote because the candidate isn’t pure enough don’t make a difference. If you don’t vote the politicians don’t care what you think. If you don’t contribute to their campaigns they don’t care what you think.

You spend an inordinate amount of time addressing my meaninglessness. Why would that be? Seems to be a poor use of your clearly superior talents since no one GAfs what I think.

Best to let me ramble into the unhearing void I’d think.

You keep calling those who voted for romney to get rid of zero, “frauds”, etc.

Do you call the owner of this site the same thing? He was resigned to accept romney in 2012 (after there was no other choice) so that we wouldn’t have four more years of the communist muslim homosexual as president.

They haven’t done enough to stop it,

Have they done anything to stop the invasion on our southern border?

but they are more reasonable than the Dems.

Are they?

Take your straw argument bullsh-t elsewhere....

Maybe I'm just daft, but I don't think I made a strawman argument, for reference: A straw man is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of an opponent's argument.

Nowhere in Post 659 did I misrepresent an argument — I asked questions on what has been don to stop the invasion, or if it's not an invasion at what point it becomes one.

and you wasted your vote - and I’m sorry - but Johnson was an embarrassing joke.

Wasted? Then you're saying my vote did not count; if it did not count, then is that not an indictment of the integrity of our system? And if the integrity of our system is in question, what reason do I have to think that a vote for anyone counts?

You think you’re smart, but you wasted your vote on an idiot.

As did you: Romney was pretty much the only Republican Electable enough to lose to Obama.

How’s that taste for “principle” -

Better than having a Romney vote on my conscience.

Sorry, I have to hop in on this.

I was against Romney because I thought he was the only candidate in the race certain to lose to Obama. Sadly, that was correct.

HOWEVER

He would have brought a moderately conservative and highly competent administration to DC, unlike Obama, who has stuffed the bureaucracy with crazy radicals.

That was enough reason to vote for him in November 2012, and (if) he were the candidate against Warren or HRC, it would be reason to vote for him again.

chrisnj:

Myth Romney: Abortion: Since a cousin of his died of a botched illegal abortion in 1962, Myth Romney, like his daddy and mommy before him, has been a supporter of abortion. On occasion, he may have denied it or obfuscated about it, but Myth has been cheer leading abortion for 52 years at least. He also included abortion funding in Romneycare, grandfather of Obozocare.

Myth Romney: Agenda of "Gay" Everything: When Myth was governor of Taxachusetts, its State Supreme Judicial Court handed down a decision saying that the STATE Constitution (written by John Adams in the 18th century) prohibited Taxachusetts' laws limiting marriage to a heterosexual couple but making a point to NOT set a timetable for changing the state laws and leaving the matter to the Taxachusetts legislature. Myth called immediately for his photographers, his newspaper and media reporters and editorialists and his legal staff (and his fiddlers three?) to write up a memorandum to all Taxachusetts town clerks ORDERING them to immediately prepare and issue upon demand "gay""marriage" applications OR ELSE.

Since, as you say, that means that Myth Romney is not EVEN a Rino. You may apologize for voting for Myth and all will be forgiven.
