The Supreme Court said Saturday that Texas can use its controversial new voter identification law for the November election.
The Supreme Court's order was unsigned, as it typically is in these situations. Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan dissented, saying they would have left the district court decision in place.
"The greatest threat to public confidence in elections in this case is the prospect of enforcing a purposefully discriminatory law, one that likely imposes an unconstitutional poll tax and risks denying the right to vote to hundreds of thousands of eligible voters," Ginsburg wrote in dissent.

A rare moment of sanity from SCOTUS this term.
All her comments about the law were fallacious.

Justice Ginsberg, Communist lawyer for the ACLU, is Clinton’s contribution to the Supreme Court. Hilary would appoint more Leftists. That’s something that should be brought up when she runs in ‘16, but the Republican candidate will be brow-beaten by the Democrat media into running a “positive campaign” so as to not offend women.
Unless God intervenes, this will give us another Leftist president, only this one will be more cunning than Obama. Pray for deliverance.
Discriminatory? Bullcrap. Identification is readily available at little or no cost. Imagine an honest voting season, love it.

Good. People should register to vote and prove that they eligible voters.
Although, this law was just enacted, I have been asked to present ID by precinct workers in the last two elections. After showing my ID, they would check their list of registered voters and confirm that I was on the list. I think there was a process for someone not found on the register, but I obviously never had that issue.
I would argue that one of the greatest threats to the Republic is the voting citizen’s strong suspicion that his or her vote will be more than offset by voter fraud. You’re a lot more open to revolution if you believe your opinion and your vote don’t count.
This is exactly what it is. It is purposed to discriminate between those who are qualified to vote and those that are not. I might also add that it is judgmental and fraudophobic.
For crying out loud. How many people in America today don’t have an ID? If they won’t go and get an ID, how many of them are going to take the time to vote?
Homeless people in my town have state IDs.
If you are above that level, you CANT function without an ID. At some point, something important will require it. Even a library card!
i know one guy who has no idea, no driver’s license. All he has is a fishing license. Which I told him how is that possible when you need some identification to be able to get the license. But this is the UP of Michigan. But you know when you walk around nearly intoxicated everyday, what do you need an ID for. That is the guy’s daily life - drunk. By the way he does not vote.
Now the fast-track strategy is to use this model in the other 56 states. ASAP and with the highest possible urgency and priority.

The greatest threat to public confidence is NOT an alleged discriminating law. The greatest threat to public confidence is the fact that voter fraud removes any hope of integrity in the election process
Will this apply to other states that just had their Voter ID statutes struck down?
Each and every state should have this court decision apply and Voter ID should be universal through out the country.
