Dude, the issue doesn’t involve the situation you described. We are talking about child porn. Odd comment considering the abhorrent crime.

The original comment that Grisham made was referring to drunken guys that clicked on the wrong sites.

This to my mind is comparatively innocent behavior to those evil cretins that create and/or go out of their way to obtain child pornography.

If Grisham is right that people that just view a few websites are going to jail, then that seems wrong to me.

If the only people going to jail for child pornography are those that are seriously invested in it, then Grisham should have apologized to the authorities for accusing them of overprosecuting, not to the public at large for being insensitive.

I have heard of cases where people urinating in public being declared sex offenders because someone was offended by seeing their private parts. Those cases are definitely ones where people were over prosecuted.

If Grisham knows of cases where people clicking on a few web sites ended up doing hard prison time then this is something that should be investigated. We want our prisons filled with truly threatening individuals not drunk perverts.
