Grisham says sorry for child porn remarks

Novelist John Grisham apologized Thursday for saying in an interview that many men imprisoned for child pornography offenses in the U.S. probably just had too much to drink and "pushed the wrong buttons."

Grisham told British newspaper The Daily Telegraph that U.S. prisons were "filled with guys my age. Sixty-year-old white men in prison who have never harmed anybody, would never touch a child."

Grisham is a liberal. His books have liberal themes. Now that liberals feel triumphant about pot and gay marriage, he was trying to take an avant-garde possition on kiddie porn and pervs. And am I the only one who thought the “60 year old white man” comment was odd? What if the drunken perv he describes was another hue, say, black? Would that be somehow different? It shows me Grisham has some latent racist outlooks. White pervs 60 and above are just benign dipsomaniacs without a keen knowledge of the internet who strangely end up looking at naked kids.

except for the fact that little children get raped, molested, abducted and killed by such perverts, every single day...
