It could be as simple as Duncan washing his hands every time he had the runs. He didn't projectile vomit, just mattress / pillow vomit, he didn't sneeze, etc. I think Jallah knew he had it early on. She admitted she knew on Sunday when saw his red eyes on Sunday AM when the dumb GF told her daughter to "fetch your daddy some breakfast". He was not locked in a room since he went to the bathroom all night.

I think there is a lot of luck and individuality. Every patient is different and the strains are slightly different. Duncan gave it to the nurses but by that time he was exploding from both ends. The CDC and hospital suggest the nurses got it before Duncan was diagnosed but that is probably CYA BS. The fact is the protection they gave them was inadequate. Air can easily enter the hood and droplets of bodily fluids can hit the eyes.
