On a side note. Liberia, if I remember correctly, was founded by freed slaves from the US. Compare their living conditions to black people in the US.

I may be one of the few FReepers who has been to Liberia.
When I first arrived I remember seeing little villages lining the road from Roberts International Airport to Monrovia and though that those people were so poor. Huts were thrown together with whatever they could find, cardboard, palm fronds, etc.
Then I made my way into Monrovia. walls were blown out of buildings. There were no wires between telephone poles, no electricity. They filled up mason jars to put gas in car gas tanks. I was standing on a street corner and wondered what the horrible smell hat was assailing my senses was. I looked down as a big chunk of human waste floated by.
I realized that the folks in the villages had it better than those in town.
