Yes; in my town they are as cashiers and truck drivers...that’s about it.
I see abunch of tutor listings, but I read about how they a bit shady in temrs of payment.
Notice all of the construction going on around north Jersey? (I don’t know in which region you live; I’m at 15W)
This nonsense is like clockwork; mangled struts, unaligned wheels, etc. until election time...
A few years ago I had an older car, and determined that I would wait until spring (when they repaired the winter damage) to re-align the wheels. They never fixed anything; I ended up doing it in the fall so I wouldn’t be a danger in the snow (I put low mileage on the car anyway).
The northeast had better wake up to the fact that the high unemployment is here to stay (much of it due to the high taxes that are here to stay asa well), and the money for maintaining anything is GONE. I’ve actually seen stop signs covered with overhanging branches; because the public works guys don’t have the union protections of either the teachers or even cops, many have been let go. For many of the municipal employees laid off in NJ, they’d better wake up to the fact that those jobs aren’t coming back either...
The worst part is that they never join the old road with the new smoothly and the crunch is horrible. I tell the wife that in any other state there would be huge "Bump in Road" signs, in NJ it's the way it's done. Keeps the suspension and tire shops in business. Also the windshield people. I go through one every 2 years.
And for this I get to enjoy the rewards of thd highest property taxes around.
I know what you mean; crossing the Passaic River has gotten interesting as they’ve added what I can only describe as new bridges alongside the existing one on Route 3. Truck traffic on local roads in particular is a road-killer in my area.
The population is just too dense; let some of these foreclosures return to nature...
