I suppose it could have been worse. Instead of Frieden, Obama could have appointed that Pajama Boy as head of the CDC.

We’d all be safe if Ebola came in a Big Gulp.

- Tom Frieden -
Community Organizer Extraordinaire.
Really a whizz at that job. But as a medical expert on ANYTHING, his credentials are a little suspect.
He is extremely good at Doublespeak and obfuscation.
The appointment could have been worse. Current Occupant could have appointed Susan Rice to the job.

I thought Frieden was a patsy in this Ebola crisis. I defended him, thinking he was being intimidated into saying all this nonsense about Ebola. Boy was I wrong!

That certainly would have queered things up...

So these sick freaks are worried about a Big Gulp, but not bringing Obola into the country? Willfully.
So when’s the criminal neglect prosecutions begin??

To liberals, a super-sized soda cup is more dangerous than ebola.
They certainly do have their priorities in order.

The Big Gulp czar is running the Center for Disease Redistribution? Who’da thunk it?
Perhaps he can get a job working the night shift at a 7-Eleven, you know, to clean up the place for the customers coming in the next day that do productive work.

Statesmen fill their cabinet with experts, and let them do their work.
Politicians fill their cabinet with political hacks and cronies, then micromanage them to fulfill their agendas.
Like these tools:
Timothy Geithner
Larry Summers
Kathleen Sebelius
Susan Rice
Eric Shinseki
Janet Napolitano
John Koskinen
Lois Lerner
Tom Frieden

Our CDC is led by a man who is more concerned about what we choose to drink than about the diseases that Obama chooses to let into our country. That is sad. We need a leader with common sense who will stand up for liberty.

When gov’t wastes the bulk of it’s time and resources on things it shouldn’t be doing, it doesn’t have time and resources for the things it should be doing.

But it was current Centers for Disease Control head Tom Frieden who was actually behind the ban.
Glenn Reynolds has already mentioned the CDC's "mission creep", which sees them meddling with people's choices in food and drink instead of concentrating on communicable diseases, which should be their only concern.
All bureaucracies seek to grow in power, influence and budget - they all seek new things to regulate and involve themselves in, and because they have no direct accountability to voters, they're largely insulated from the results of popular anger. It will take a stronger and more principled conservative political class than the GOP can provide to curb out-of-control federal bureaucracies - EPA, FDA, and now even the CDC.
To me, it's just another strong indicator that we need a new conservative political party to replace the decrepit, corrupt Republican establishment.
