An Air France plane has been isolated at an airport in Madrid after a patient was reported to have a fever and shivers.
The situation is being treated as a suspected case of ebola, a health ministry official was quoted as saying.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
I seem to recall we have Hanta virus infections in squirrels, in one of our national parks...was it Yellowstone?

Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome is a potentially serious disease transmitted through exposure to the urine, saliva, blood, or droppings of infected deer mice. The outbreak centered around a particular set of lodging presumed to be contaminated with disease-carrying rodents. However, a significant percentage of deer mice, about 12 percent, could be carrying the virus.

Can you imagine the wide spread panic that would occur if say 4 or 5 people across the country actually got Ebola and they didn’t know how? It would be absolutely insane, it would bring the country to a standstill.
Update: All four new suspected Ebola cases test negative for virus. Must now await a second test before being cleared.

My thoughts exactly. Common sense would have forbid flights to and from these infected nations.
