Disaster Declaration Planned for Ebola Fight

Dallas County Commissioners will hold a special meeting Thursday to declare a disaster over "the potential for widespread or severe damage, injury, loss or threat of life resulting from the Ebola virus."

The declaration could help officials impose new travel restrictions on health care workers who may have cared for the first Dallas Ebola patient, Thomas Eric Duncan.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said Dallas County Medical Director Dr. Christopher Perkins will sign a control order that will follow the minimum guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, blocking those being monitored for Ebola symptoms from using public transportation, including buses and airliners.

It comes after revelations Wednesday that the third Dallas Ebola patient, Amber Vinson, a nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, returned from a trip to Ohio with a slight fever after caring for Duncan, who died at the hospital last week.

I’m waiting to make flight arrangements for my daughter to come home from FL for the holidays.

I just don’t know what to think about this yet. Especially since the revelation about the infected nurse flying

Is Dallas blue? I have been wondering why all the incompetency. Let’s not forget how the negligence of Nagel from New Orleans receded in collected memory. Who exactly are these democrat stooges and what have they been responsible for?

The judge is a big liberal clown.

The commission is controlled by liberal thugs.

I remember my dad talking about typhoid. Luckily to date, Ebola is nowhere near as contagious, but the ineptness and incompetence of our government is what's so disconcerting.

Here in AZ the democratic candidate for governor is the one who heads the Institute for Civility, instituted after a looney killed five people and injured Rep. Giffords. We have been run over by the crazy train.

I am glad you pointed what a great state Texas is.

It's disheartening that a certain segment of FReepers seem to take pleasure in bashing the Lone Star State. Well, if a picture is worth a thousand, I'll double that with these pictures of two great Patriots, both proud Texans.

God Bless Texas!

Is Dallas blue?

It's a 'RAT stronghold. The whole town is run by leftists and the CEO of the company that owns the hospital has contributed to DemonRATs. Not only is Dallas blue, it's increasingly brown and black. It wasn't so bad in the late 70s and early 80s when the city was still nice and the vast majority spoke standard English. Now the language is overwhelmingly a mix of ebonics and Spanish.

I put a large amount of blame for this on the Warren Court and the Brown decision...but that's whole thread topic of its own.

I was living in AZ for quite a number of years. I left in the late 1990’s.

It was still conservative when I left but I understand that the looneys from moonbat states with the unreal border problems may really turn it.

I could not believe a few years ago that my 4-wheeling territory came with a dire warning. The ranges of Pinal county and all the mines. Cartels had taken over from Sells to I-8.

This should be put in context as you have done. Thank-you.

I wrote on another thread how when the CNN medical correspondent wrote to Dallas Presbyterian hospital, asking why Duncan was not recognized initially as an Ebola patient, they wrote back, “That’s just navel gazing.”

It is not only a flip remark, it reflects what they have been doing this entire time, making up protective protocols on the fly until inevitably two nurses were felled by Ebola.

I hope you have already fled to the white exurbs of Dallas where you can be with like-minded, American believing citizens.

Yes, that is so awful. So hard to believe the incursion of the cartels on sovereign American land.

You should come back to north of Tucson, in Oro Valley, very conservative, and conservatives from Mark Steyn, Larry Arnes of Hillsdale College, the late Andrew Breitbart, and many more have come to speak.

One conservative talk show is Jewish and another is black.

But in nearby Tucson... well thank goodness for the state of Mississippi or Tucson would be last in education, jobs, etc. , not just runner-up.

P.S. You missed a great sunset tonight.

“things are all indicators of extreme COMPETENCY”

Well, expect for the hospital administration, the nursing staff, the sheriff department, the apartment complexes, the cleaning crews, holy hell everybody from the janitor to the CEO! They were turning away exploding ebola patients, then keeping them for 6 hours in the waiting area, then taking them into the general ward with dozens of other patients(and their nurses, families), then sending in dozens of nurses with a face mask into an ebola infected guy’s room who just had projectile vomiting and exploding diarrhea, then piling the waste in the same damn room, then not instructing its nurses not to fly after one of its nurses contract the damn virus. Oh and talk about the competency of the licensed(!!) nurses that are vacationing across the US, spreading Ebola.

They were not true Texans. The CEO gave to a 'RAT congressman. The sheriff department is run by a sodomite. The janitors were holderites. Simply put, Dallas is not Texas. Likewise for Austin, Brownsville, El Paso, Ft. Worth, Harlingen, Houston, McAllen and San Antonio -- all 'RAT infested areas, every bit as bad as Boston or Seattle.

Can you list me some cities in Texas that are not RAT infested? Or do we have to go down to the hamlet level?

The exurbs and rural areas are resolutely Christian and unwaveringly Conservative. Cities everywhere are hideous places and even the Great State of Texas isn't immune to that truth voiced so eloquently by Thomas Jefferson:

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.

The plentiful small towns and prosperous farming communities are where true Texans thrive, free from the holderites, sodomites and abortionists of urban cesspools.

Nice list nortex and it shows just how strong Texas is.

Funny that sagar calls Texas incompetent but fails to list state he/she hales from.

The most incompetent thing Texas has ever done is join the other 49 states. BUT, since we are here we will keep propping yawl up.
