15 years ago some friends of mine tried to fight the Gay Pride Parade staging area, which was on front of their house.
The treatment they got at the city council hearing scared the hell out of them.
One 'friendly' (he was on their side) in the city government, after the hearing was over pulled them aside and gave them some friendly advice: "You really do not want to fight the gay mafia in this town, they own it."
They now go away every year on that weekend.
Also, remember, it’s not accurately thought of as “pro-gay”, but as “anti-Christian”.
And, yes, they have “that guy” backing them.
