May I summarize this NYT junk: Bush’s and America’s fault.

Key example:

“The United States had gone to war declaring it must destroy an active weapons of mass destruction program. Instead, American troops gradually found and ultimately suffered from the remnants of long-abandoned programs, built in close collaboration with the West.”

PS The “West” is NYT code speak for GW and the USA.

The fact that there were medical consequences to handling those munitions indicates that their contents could have been placed in other shells and used. So the fact that they were old is of no significance. He had chemical weapons.

They know that is how readers will interpret that even though European countries supplied most of Iraq's weapons and military infrastructure.
