CNN) -- Even if you've never been a fan of Glen Campbell, this one's certain to tug at your heartstrings.
The Country Music Hall of Fame member, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011, is out with the video for the final song he'll ever record -- "I'm Not Gonna Miss You." It was recorded in 2013 with producer Julian Raymond.
"I'm still here but yet I'm gone/ I don't play guitar or sing my songs," the tune begins as it details his struggles with the disease.

Having lost someone to Alzheimer’s... I can appreciate what it took for him to write that song.
He’s saying goodbye, while he can.

Wow incredible. I don’t know what to say, on one hand it’s beautiful but strange at the same time. “I’m not going to miss you” I assume because he has Alzheimer’s, but isn’t that sort of making fun of himself?
For those who aren’t aware of his early career,the book and documentary “The Wrecking Crew” really pays tribute to Campbell’s skill which made him one of the most-requested guitarists on the west coast, and paved the way for his solo career. By playing on all those hit records his musical talent influenced countless people who might not have liked his later country style as much. The book quotes one of his colleagues saying in essence “if there was ever a person possessed of too much talent, that person is Glen Campbell”.

I think I saw that documentary. Until I saw that I didn’t realize that he was one of the best guitarists ever.
Not really, His disease will gradually take his mind to a place where memories don’t exist. The last 5 minutes would be non-existant. So he is saying I’m not going to miss you because in my mind now, you never were there. How sad.
So sad. The day my mother did not know who my father was so sad for him. Her memory loss hurt him more than it did her.
When she would still have times when she did come back, she would tell me how scary it was to not remember anything, her husband, her parents and siblings all dead, etc. She told me she hoped it never happened to me.

In addition to being an alum of the GREAT Hal Blaine led Wrecking Crew that played the instruments on ALL Beach Boy recordings, Glen also traveled with Beach Boys playing lead guitar in concerts.
My father is in the end weeks of this disease. He is still here but he is gone. Love you Dad!
Dad’s are special, I hope Glen’s courage reflects your own.

I will always remember, “Hi, I’m Glen Campbell”.
I never realized til recently how much Campbell did without us knowing. As part of the Wrecking Crew he put made so many influential songs not credited to him at all.
