They’ve probably been taunting him, and they think they’ve hit a nerve.

We cant find him I don't know that they will, either. At least, not now. Perhaps down the road a ways, but not now.

Anything to justify the $1.1M/week they are spending on this fiasco.

This will have a HUGE impact on PSP in about 18 months...just like after the Camp Hill prison riots.
Look for mass retirements in order to cash in pensions based on the final two years of salary (including OT).
Any young FReepers considering becoming a Trooper: Act now. Once in a generation opportunity for quick advancement coming up.

I would say they are not being efficient but this person needs to be caught. Anyone who premeditated a murder of an LEO is not someone you can trust not to hurt innocents.

I think they should call off the search, go back to normal activity and then assign two experienced fish and game officers to find him.

I think they should call off the search, go back to normal activity and then assign two experienced fish and game officers to find him. Unless he is found by November 30, the Game Commission should allow normal rifle deer season hunting to take place, provided that all hunters be deputized and authorized to shoot to kill unless he actively surrenders--spead eagled on the ground.
The hunters might instead discover his coyote-mangled carcass.

If he is still alive then he surely must be a true survivalist in every sense of the word to be able to evade for this long.

And a bloodhound. Don’t forget the bloodhound. Dog’s gotta have a name like ‘’Duke’’. Duke will find ‘em for sure.

With all the troopers tramping around there, if he intended to shoot more, it seems like he would have done it by now.
The problem with letting hunters find him is that the accidental shooting rate would skyrocket. While I am not all that impressed with the troopers, IMO they are less likely to shoot someone accidentally.

if he intended to shoot more, it seems like he would have done it by now. That thought had crossed my mind. Seems those big yellow block letters "STATE POLICE" would be quite the target, if he wanted to, especially considering previous reports that he was "toying" with them. I'd say he could probably put a few shots right on target, if he wanted.
