That's true, but the political cost (and the cost in bodies) to force that on the government is WAY too high. Flights will not be banned unless there is a military coup in the United States.
A thirty-day quarantine is legal, and would save just as many (American) lives as a travel ban. The Commissioned Corps, USPHS has 6000 officers on duty to carry it out. It is more feasible, politically, than a travel ban.
So, push for quarantine. As long as Obama is President and (Dem) and (Rep) together have majorities in the House and Senate, advocating for a travel ban is pissing in the wind.
Jim, I’m not sure why you think it would take a lot of new bodies to deny boarding.
People have to have a passport. If they don’t have one, they can’t board. If they’re from certain no-fly countries, why would it take more people just to deny them access?
