avoid politics altogether.

It would be best if they did. I remember some years ago one visiting priest gave a sermon excoriating Republicans and Bush. A large number of people (including yrs truly) got up and walked out. The pastor apparently told the rest of the priests to muzzle it, because for several years thereafter the liberal extreme viewpoints were not explicitly stated. New pastor, and now the sermons hit things like immigration, and briefly alluded to "gun violence"

I suppose if I could choose a church and a pastor based upon politics and ideology, I would join John Hagee’s church. I watch him all of the time on TV. But I don’t live in San Antonio. I also like Hal Lindsay and Joyce Mayer among the TV ministers.

Over the years I have heard it said that conservatives should leave both the Catholic Church and the Republican Party. I have decided to:

1) Remain Catholic
2) Remain Republican
3) Remain conservative
4) Let the chips fall where they may.
