Duncan checked into the ER on the 24th and the 26th of Sept.

About 16 days or less depending on time of this test being taken and which visit the nurse may have been exposed.

I wonder how the judge is feeling.

As far as I know screening tests are worthless, one has to be ill for the test to be positive, and even then the initial test may be negative. The story states the individual is symptomatic with fever.

I’m wondering if the judge and that @sshole Jesse Jackson are now going to disappear from the public eye.

This is an area of debate.

There are several strains of Ebola - each mutated - and seems this variety can survive in airborne particles.

The nurse in Spain and others early on where taking precautions - but no one was using a SCBA...seems this virus can survive and transmit from infected host to others nearby by hitching a ride on minute particles (coughing, sneezing, etc)

I would also throw in there as a prevention - probiotics - for a healthy gut! I’m not saying you can’t get any viruses - but way make it easy for it to take hold. A strong immune system will help one recover than one that is compromised.

It think given the paranoia over the possible spread of the Ebola virus outside of western Africa, this may finally force the Obama Administration to ban anyone coming from western Africa entering the USA unless the person has clear medical proof of being free from the disease. I’m sure they’re already doing that in much of Europe by now.

The virus can live outside the body for 6 days, meaning it can be on a doorknob and you touch it then put your fingers to your mouth and *poof* you have Ebola. That's why this whole comparison to AIDS is a complete farce. Oh yes, and if it can live outside the body for 6 days then it IS an airborne virus. If someone sneezes all it takes is someone to breathe it in. Isn't that wonderful? Yet 150 people every DAY are coming into the US from West African countries. And our Presidents response?

LET'S PARTY!

I wonder how the judge is feeling. ............Dallas Judge Jenkins......

shown here with Obama celebrating the $190 millions that the Dallas Baptist church got for housing illegal alien children from South America.

....maybe they could chip in (no pun intended) a few bucks towards the care of the hospital workers.

Well, a lot of tests—and treatments—are given without much expectation of effectiveness. I think the hospital administration would be throwing a lot of Hail Mary’s right now. I’d like to know the rate of false positives...

If it can attach itself to a particle of dust it can probably stay airborne in a closed environment until it dies.

Unreal. Say what you will about 9/11, but it didn’t wake up this country one bit. That was Phase 1, we needed two more phases (or World Trade Center magnitude hits, in that case), and still haven’t gotten them.

With Ebola, it seems that the phases will be something like the following, as America discovers that big oceans don’t help when you have open borders:

Phase 1) OMG, you mean it’s able to infect people even when they’re outside of Africa? We’re safe.

Phase 2) OMG, you mean that it can be spread in America and that it doesn’t just affect those “black people” with strong accents? We’re safe, because I trust the president.

Phase 3) OMG, our government doesn’t know jack about how to deal with it and was TOTALLY UNPREPARED (as Ebola spreads here, pretty much unchecked)? Crap, DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING, to stop this!

We’re just entering Phase 2 now. If we don’t take some really strong action now, this country will be COMPLETELY LOCKED DOWN as we get into Phase 3.

This is one of the best scoops in Free Republic history. Thanks for doing the legwork. This has huge implications for air travel. It’s a very inconvenient truth.

So does this mean that the healthcare workers that had contact with Duncan during his two visits are not on the “contact list”.

Not yet, but it will get them talking about the idea and then probably doing it after the election. They’re simply unable to do it now as politics trumps EVERYTHING to them.

“excuse my language, but how in the **** are the hospital personnel contracting this while supposedly in protective gear but Duncan’s family is not infected while interacting unprotected with his bodily fluids????”

There are probably more ebola victims than they are admitting.
Probably more people slipping through and being
let go in the general population. To cover for the Obama,
they will do it. This president is a complete and total
disaster for this country and I believe it is intentional.

“There are probably more ebola victims than they are admitting.”

Agree. The goal here is to keep it under wraps until after the election. Some cases will slip out, as these people are humans and they have families and families will talk to the media.

But we will pay a HUGE PRICE for the delay, and millions of people will be affected, if not every American, as we take the (presently unimaginable) steps needed to contain the outbreak.

But our healthcare system makes Ebola magically less lethal and less contagious by virtue of not being in Africa.

I would predict silence. This would be too big of a horrific impact prior to an election. Expect more “nothing to see here...Ebola along...”

One thing, supposedly people get more infectious, the sicker they are (more virus in fluids or something).
