The two yard periods that I went through were bad for my health. Inbound ordnance was bad for my health. Outbound ordnance was bad for my health. Constant noise, fumes and all of the asbestos was bad for my health. Dangerous evolutions were bad for my health. Being the #1 OBA Man onboard ship was bad for my health. Otto fuel was bad for our health. Having to manually lift and carry torpedoes was bad for our health. Downloading ASROCs at night on antiquated equipment was bad for our health. Liberty in Subic Bay was bad for my health. Shipboard life in general is bad for one’s health.
I could go on enlightening you as to things that were bad for our health, but I think the point is obvious.
