Unless the airline has the ability to offer tho service, I think she was right to refuse. You might have a point there, but not if she was rude and dismissive, as some reported.

That's a Combat Infantryman Badge on his jacket, dimwit, that alone makes him First Class and then some.
It's a damn shame so many people in this country, expecially people pretend to be a Conservative, know so little about the real value of things in this life.

US soldiers should always be given respect and shown our appreciation.
Its a sad commentary on US Airways its flight attendant didn’t show that courtesy.
The men and women who serve our country deserve whatever assistance we can render them - whether they are in active service or retired.

This man has put his life on the line so you could sleep all cozy and warm in your bed.
You don't sound appreciative of that fact.

Some people just don’t have manners. Its sad when one tries to justify inexcusable behavior.
No wonder the passengers were mortified. US Airways owes the officer an apology.

You’re full of shit. The cretin needs to be fired and the airline got a load of bad press because she had major attitude towards the soldier,a very highly decorated soldier at that.

Personally, I tell you what I would do. I would insist that M/Sgt. Marle accept my seat, and I would take his. What an opportunity to offer a small token of appreciation for his obvious loyalty.

No, if she did her job as expected by her employer, she shouldn’t be fired.

For those who don’t know what those ‘thingys’ on the jacket mean, the man has given “First Class Service”. It wouldn’t have hurt to hang the jacket for him. It might even show a smidgin of gratitude.

He didn't expect the service, he merely asked and made no fuss when refused.
He's a decorated Army Ranger -- coach or not, the attendant damn right should have hung up his jacket, and thanked Sargeant Marle for the privilege of doing so.
Decorated Army Ranger -- does that mean NOTHING to you?

Much ado about nothing. All airlines have bad apples. I flew military hundreds of times over 35 yrs in the army. Many stews in all airlines( incl. US Air) wore patches and badges from all the services, they were great and proud of the military. Give them a break. This stew could have been a leftist or just having a bad day.
