Always great to hear stories about people who successfully overcame Anorexia.

There was something similar in the SF Bay area some years ago. It seems the night shift guy at a crematorium in Oakland was making extra cash by having drug dealers bring in the remains of their competition.
The night shift guy would either double stack the furnace or just add the extra body to the schedule. What undid him was a 300 lb + client who over stressed the furnace and caused a fire that had to have the FD put it out. That ended his “business”

If obesity rates continue to rise, we may have stumbled on a new, renewable energy source right here.

"The body was so obese that the actual body fat came off and went straight up the sack and hit the roof material, the rubber roof we have up there and that's what made it go up like it did...That means the flame was not hot enough to do the job. Lower settings, saving a little on the gas bill?

I heard about this... it’s gross and unfortunate.
And when I stop snickering (yes, shame on me), I’ll focus on those two aspects.

I find it disturbing that the crematorium, and the fire dept, went into detail on what caused the fire. Just say it was 'a malfunction, mechanical in nature'.
There was a grieving family, I presume, and this reporting only makes it harder on them. Knowing their loved one was the cause of derision in his/her death, as possibly while living, would be hard to take.

Jeez. In San Francisco no less! Bunch of flamers. It's one thing to grease a few palms and stuff a few envelopes but if I were that guy's boss I'd blow my freakin' stack.

I dealt with a fire fueled by human fat once. I saw no reason to mention the source of the combustible material, because it was somebody’s husband and somebody’s father.
Once you smell it, you will never forget it.

Nope not San Francisco, Oakland (aka Zimbabwe by the Bay). Oakland is still regarded as being part of the SF Bay area.
His boss was the least of his worries. The stack was already blown, no pun intended, when the crematorium furnace went up.
I would think either his previous customers worried about him flipping for the state or doing hard time for destroying evidence of a crime( murder) would have been his main concern
