Really sorry to learn this. I had always hoped that she and Nora Dunn would come back to SNL and do a ‘Sweeney Sisters’ skit. Way too young. I’ll miss your comedy, Jan.

I very seldom watch SNL, not at all in the last several years, but I immediately recognized her from that Jim and Tammy Bakker skit which I did see. It was a classic. RIP

That’s sad to hear, she was a great supporting player. I liked her. She did “The Sweeney Sisters”, too.

Drag, man. A genuine talent, who, come to think of it, did not look at all well during her last performance.

Uncomfortably close to my own age, too.

Do you mind if I plagiarize that line occasionally?

Consider it plagiarized. Fang-tastic...

She was definitely a star. She even won an Emmy award.

She also played Harry’s girlfreind in “3rd Rock from the Sun.” The Big Giant Head ( William Shatner ) got her pregnant.

May she rest in peace. I loved her in the Sweeney Sisters skit and all of the others she was in.

Thanks. Now that you note that, I remember. Maybe that’s the last time I was able to watch SNL. Long, long time ago.

I did not recognize her name either, but yep, saw that pic and understood who she was, saw it too. Still get a laugh when I think of that skit.

Haven’t watched SNL since around 1978.

Then you have missed out on a lot. It's an old cliche that the best days of SNL were the Belushi/Aykroyd/Radner years but it's simply not true. While the 1975-79 period had some great moments, go back and watch those shows today and there were far more skits that fell flat.

There was a truly bad period in the early 1980s (when Lorne Michaels temporarily left the show for a few years) but since 1986, we have gotten almost three solid decades of great shows.

I liked her in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. She was unknown to me and had a small part. But in a movie filled with eccentric characters, she manages to steal the scene she is in. I am convinced this little part got her into Saturday Night Live

Alamo Tour
