Lawsuit bait.

Hospitals will start turning potential uninsured Ebola cases away, out of fear of being sued.

RE: Hospitals will start turning potential uninsured Ebola cases away, out of fear of being sued.

They will be then sued for refusing treatment.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

That can’t happen under EMTALA.
Turning a patient away like that guarantees a visit from CMS, loss of ability to bill Medicare or Medicaid, a large fine and the physcian would also face a 50k fine he has to pay.

This is total bulls**t .

Whenever there is a case of a serious but rare disease, the CDC goes all out to support the care of the patient.

There are all kinds of CDC expert big shots flying out on government private jets and bogging down your unit and generally making life difficult for the docs on the ground.

Any new or experimental drugs or treatments are considered and medicine is flown in via private jet.

At least this has been the case in my experience. If not then Obama has totally mis managed the CDC and his response to Ebola

If that happens, then it will become an epidemic...
