It would make sense that whites having no contact with African viruses for 50,000 years would be more likely than Africans to get catch it. Africans likely have a bit more immunity then Europeans.

Based on what I've seen and the piss poor response thus far. I would be willing to bet health care workers and first responders will stay home should a serious Ebola outbreak occur here. Time to stock up on bleach.

Actually viruses are VERY specific what species they can reproduce in. Most viruses have a very narrow range of animals they can infect. Part of the problem is when they cross over to a species they don’t usually inhabit a benign virus can become lethal. Viruses DONT want to kill their hosts, at least not quickly because it interferes with the viruses replication. An example is Monkey pox. Lots of primates carry it with no ill effect. But if a human gets bitten and gets it, frequently lethal.

Yeah I am beginning to think, based on very little hear say evidence, that Africans catch Ebola when massively exposed, but Europeans get inflected when only slightly exposed. If so then the danger to the USA (and Europe) is much greater then the danger to Africa.

From what I have read is that dogs do get the virus, but their immune system kills it fairly quickly. However during the period they are infected they could, in theory, infect a human.

I’m getting sick of those drooling idiots in Washington and Atlanta telling us that Ebola can’t spread in the U.S. and that we need to continue allowing those infected with Ebola to come to the U.S. so west Africa’s economy won’t collapse. This is BS.
