Absolutely. The nature of this virus is such that the only way it can be transmitted here is via plane. Slower means of transportation wouldn’t work. The carrier would be dead long before they ever got here.

Of course, if the Keyestone Kops in the CDC and the Obama Administration let this thing get rolling here, all bets are off anyway.

Could already be the case. We don’t really know.

Sort of. But they can freely fly into a Mex bordertown and walk across with a week to spare.

The initial African carrier wouldn’t have to make it all the way here. Just to this hemisphere would do the trick. They would infect their fellow travelers before they crashed out somewhere. The fellow travelers would probably make it. If not, they’d in turn infect others.

Just getting it to this hemisphere, in Mexico or Central America, would suffice.
