You’re right. It’s a great shot for the reasons you stated.

NYC born and raised and been a Giants fan since the early ‘50s. Go Jints!

Thank you for thee photo.

Baseball is the Norman Rockwell sport.

Baseball is the only sport that turns a crowd into a community.

Are there any other teams in the National League besides San Francisco & St. Louis ;?

Maybe a defining picture of the America that was, but not the defining picture for the game itself. That honor would have to be Aaron Barrett throwing the ball to the screen on a pitchout.

Great catch, but I don’t really like the photo. It looks like the fans are in a cage at a DHS detention facility.

My seething hatred of all the depravity that the city of San Francisco applauds aside, I have become a big fan of the Giants in recent years.

Best of luck to them in the NLCS and the WS.

Wow - baseball and Norman Rockwell. Seems like so long ago. It really does feel like it’s part of the past. Scary.

Everyone should read this article about the Giants win last night:

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nbc-yahoo-sports/giants-continue-to-win-in-bizarre--unimaginable-ways-140414222.html

"The mutant product of the Insane Clown Posse and a gathering of warlocks.

There are forces here that neither they nor we fully understand, but take care to wear rubbed-soled shoes to prevent electrical shocks. This is way more than Torture. This is the occult with cleats."

Just win, baby.

Amazing catch. Pence looks like he is in the middle of a seizure with everything he does, but boy it works for him. I mean who wears socks above the knees?!! Giants sure handed it to the Nats, they played great and deserved to win. I actually thought the Buccos were more dangerous to the Nats chances, Nostradamus I’m not.

One of the best parts about the Giants winning was the removal of the possibility of Obama throwing out the first pitch at a Nats' WS home game. Delightful!

Good to see the Giants and the Cardinals in the NLCS. Neither team were given much respect this past week as it was "Dodgers lose" or "Nats lose".

I loathe the city of San Francisco and what it stands for these days (lived in N. California all my life), but for some reason, I do not associate the Giants much with San Francisco. That became more true once they got their new stadium, built *and* being paid for by the owners of the Giants.
