Blacks and Hispanics are more worried than whites about contracting the Ebola virus, according to a new Pew Research survey.

The poll, conducted Oct. 2-5, found that "nearly half of blacks (47%) and 39% of Hispanics say they are very or somewhat worried about being exposed to the Ebola virus," while "just 27% of whites are worried" about contracting Ebola.

In addition, "women (37%) are somewhat more concerned than men (27%) that they or someone in their family will be exposed to Ebola," and those with with lower levels of education are more worried about getting Ebola than college graduates.

Pew found that while 22% of college graduates are worried about getting Ebola, "34% of those with some college experience and 38% of those with no more than a high school diploma say they are worried."

I had a random conversation with an unknown black lady today. She was probably in her late 50’s. She brought up Ebola and indignantly declared she didn’t understand why the federal government hasn’t closed the airports and sealed the border. She mentioned she was concerned about her children and grandchildren getting sick. She specifically said they shouldn’t let anyone else travel to or from Africa. I thought it was interesting that she would criticize the Obama government in front of a conservatively-dressed WASPY stranger.

The black people I know well enough to discuss politics with are right of center, definitely on social issues, but also on many economic issues. Then they vote like communists. They just can’t bring themselves to vote differently than family/friends.

This outbreak, if it happens, will overwhelm and decimate the poor and the homeless sections of each given city. Only problem is this: Can they figure out the bad policy that condemned so many of them to die.

Not eating bushmeat shows the wisdom to a primitive people of following the old Jewish dietary and hygiene laws.

.... Well lucky for them .... If they actually do contract the disease ... they all have their FREE Obamacare ... and it will only take them 3-6 months to see a doctor!

.... Yup .... lucky them!

"Can they figure out the bad policy that condemned so many of them to die."

They haven't figured out the bad policies that condemn them to live the way they do, because they keep electing Democrats...

If The Big E gets going here, folks who are promiscuous are going to have a tough time.

You’d be amazed if you could read their minds. I’d bet the farm that most of them think: “Obama thinks the way I do because I’m voting for him.”

Years ago, pollsters discovered that conservative, anti-Communist, pro-life Catholics in Massachusetts OVERWHELMINGLY believed that Ted Kennedy was conservative, anti-Communist, and pro-life.

It’s already a proven fact that 100% of Democrats will vote for someone else to die, so long as they are not the one whose life is at stake.

It’s the same sort of values projection that had southerners voting for Jimmy Carter, so don’t feel too badly about it. We thought he was one of us because he was southern and he was at least nominally Baptist, so we assumed he though like us as well. Wrong.

Catholics in Massachusetts thought the same. But, Jimmuh was one and done whereas Kennedy was inflicted upon us for decades, though.

Even Bill Clinton benefitted to some extent from this, but he cured us and cured us good. Now even southern Republicans get very close scrutiny, closer from us than from other regions.
