Former Obama Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has dropped what may be the biggest bombshell yet on his former boss. Panetta appeared on MSNBC today and explained that he knew, from the beginning, that the attack on the US facility in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, was a terrorist attack. President Obama did not see it that way, and his actions that night remain a mystery. Assuming his main allegiance is to the Clintons, he’s helping her to distance herself from Obama.

And he’s accurately read the tea leaves, he knows Obama is an epic failure, and wants to be on the other side.

Also he does have a background in national security, so to save face with his national security colleagues, he needs to get his objections out now.

Finally he knows that when Obama is out of office, Obama will carry little weight, and Panetta is not afraid of taking shots at Obama.

I have avoided the news (and FR) for several weeks. My disgust was completely over the top and I was going to let it simmer down. I come back and THIS is what I see. Disgust returns to full boil. I cannot deal with it.

Before, I would have searched for Panetta’s previous statements and sworn testimony. Today, I do not have the heart to even think about it. So, back to my insulation mode.

Reading this made me think of the movie Outbreak. Remember in the movie when the president has his cabinet and other important people in a room and they are discussing whether or not to nuke that town where everyone is sick. He tells them that everyone in the room has to be on board with the decision because he doesn’t want to see one of them running to the press when the heat is on saying they were the lone person who was against the decision. Panetta sounds like that person.

The problem is that he is also implicating her. She's on record blaming this on a You Tube video, and her position as SOS was that it wasn't a terrorist attack. She said they would go after the video producer, and they did. She also said “What difference does it make?”

I don't see how Panetta’s comments help her, even if that's what his intent was. Personally, I wonder if there isn't concern amongst all those who've worked for Obama that the jig is up, and he is about to be exposed on multiple fronts. Or maybe they just see his declining poll numbers and are trying to distance themselves.

And yet, somehow, that could not be communicated to the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut. Perhaps he had other pressing business, like attending a fund-raising function.

What is it with The Won and fundraising? Is it NEVER going to be enough? Or is this for a legal defense fund for the period after January 20, 2017? Wouldn’t it be easier to simply go into exile, like “Baby Doc” Duvalier, formerly of Haiti?
