Feminists Claim Iconic WWII Victory Kiss Statue Depicts 'Sexual Assault'
Breitbart ^ | October 7, 2014 | Andre Walker

The 25ft statue which weighs 13 tonnes was placed close to Pegasus Bridge to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Whilst the Caen Memorial Museum have described it as an “iconic work” French feminist group Osez Le Féminisme have started a petition to have it removed.

They maintain the women in the original photo did not consent to being kissed and it was therefore a sexual assault. Alfred Eisenstaedt who took the original photo has confirmed the sailor in the photo was kissing any woman who came close to him. He is said to have had little regard for whether they were young or old, attractive or not.

The group told The Times: “The sailor could have laughed with these women, hugged them, asked them if he could kiss them with joy... No, he chose to grab them with a firm hand to kiss them. It was an assault.”

They claim the woman in the photo backs up their allegation, although there is some despute over her identity. Museum director Stéphane Grimaldi says the woman is Edith Shain, a nurse who maintained she had not been assaulted in any way. The feminists say she is Greta Zimmer Friedman, an Austrian whose parents died in the concentration camps.

Friedman has publicly stated that she did not ask to be kissed, she was quoted as saying: “I wasn’t kissing him. He was kissing me”. However, she never made a complaint against the sailor, and in fact remained friends with him afterwards. The two met up on several occasions.

The name of the statue is a reference to the demand by Allied Forces that Axis Powers surrender without any conditions. This was achieved in 1945 after heavy casualties were inflicted on both sides. One of the bloodiest days of the conflict was...

Funny how these fembots don’t speak out against Muslim rape, sodomy, beheading, honor killing, and selling onto slavery of women and girls by ISIS and Muslims worldwide.

But this, THIS—must be answered for!

Honestly, I mentioned this last week to my gf and how that image will be depicted as sexist in the coming years.

BTW, two nights ago I saw a TV show with a female cop grab a male below the belt while arresting him and making a lewd comment. I wonder if a male did that in a TV show if he’d be up on assault charges. Also, read an article yesterday where a TV ad is now featuring a naked male and the the female newspaper writer said “Unfortunately (she has yet to see it).” I wonder if a TV ad featured a naked female and a male writer stated something similarly if he’d have to apologize. The feminazis are filled with hypocrisy.

It has been known to take off the edge.

I was friends with one of these types in high school. I can remember her reading a book in the 80s where it said that ALL sex where a man is penetrating a woman is rape. And she’s still WAY off her rocker.

Okay feminazis...produce evidence that these women made a formal, hell even an INformal complaint about the alleged assault, and we’ll talk. Otherwise STFU and be gone.

Good point. And we’re going back to an iconic photo from world War 2 to make a political statement about how feminists view “sexual assault”.

Heck, so many of us can tell dating stories. Such as, should we kiss her goodnight.

I should be in prison, because sometimes I kissed a girl goodnight from a date. I never ever asked permission to do so. NEVER, not once. I didn’t kiss every girl I went out with, but of those I did, I never asked permission first. I just did it if I wanted to.

So, come arrest me. I am guilty.

They can’t get any, haven’t you ever seen a dyke?

On a more serious note the woman in the picture seemed to be enjoying it. Was she striking that perfect “I’m in love” pose exactly when he kissed her? No. The picture was taken midway through the kiss, and was certainly mutual.

How ridiculous, illogical, hateful and wrong these “feminists” must be to actually believe this. Think of the conversation they must have had, stupidity on a Darwinian level. Yet their voices are heard when they should be shouted down. People don’t want truth, they want lies.

I remember reading that this was a staged photo. Would that make it a ‘staged assault’?

If the statue had 2 lesbian females kissing, would that be ok with these feminist types? Or is that still sexual assault if both are women????

They have no context to this.

Many men and women had been deprived of sexual contact of any kind from 2-4 years at the end of WWII, and the arrival of veterans in US ports was greeted with wild celebration by both men and women.

From that point, with the VA Bill, huge numbers of veterans went to college for degrees, and to meet women to marry, then get jobs, have children and get a home. The veterans rejected the social controls of the rather prudish colleges, as did the coeds.

And this resulted in the baby boom.

For these grotesque feminists to suggest this was sexual assault, because they reject heterosexuality as inherently rapacious, is just ridiculous.
