Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday the besieged Syrian city of Kobani was in imminent danger of falling to Islamic State and called on the U.S.-led coalition fighting the radical group to bolster its air raids with ground operations.
The U.S.-led air campaign hit Islamic State positions Tuesday near the Syrian border city of Kobani, known in Arabic as Ayn al-Arab, but officials and Syrian opposition members said the militants were still advancing against Syrian Kurdish fighters.
During a visit to a refugee camp in the border province of Gaziantep, Mr. Erdogan declared Kobani was about to fall and said the air campaign wasnt enough.
You cant end this terrorism just by airstrikes. If you dont support them on the ground, by cooperating with those who take up a ground operation, the airstrikes wont do it, he said.

When Turkey falls under the black flag, WW III will start in ernest.
The Europeans had better grow a pair and prepare to fight this out.

Turkey, of course, could dispatch isis in mere moments. But why do that to your ally when you can feign concern and call 0bama’s bluff all at once?

It's like the Battle of Warsaw 1945. The Soviets sat on the opposite side of the River Vistula and watched the Nazis put down the Polish uprising. The Turks apparently want the PKK destroyed worse than they want ISIS stopped. As for Obama, he's a spectator who only entered this fight to boost his poll numbers. In his own way, he's also on the other side of today's Vistula.

So Turkey would like to downgrade the Kurd's ability to defend themselves, then come in and "save" them? What happens if ISIS attacks inside Turkey? Will the US have to defend its 'NATO ally"? Then we will have armed and trained both sides! I do not get wanting to take out Assad. If he's gone, ISIS has a corridor to the Med.
Then there's the side issue nobody is talking about. It's a miracle that Ebola hasn't infected refugee camps and war torn regions, globally. And still, the US is arming and training more fighters!
