Americans lack confidence in the government’s ability to protect their personal safety and economic security, a sign that their widespread unease about the state of the nation extends far beyond politics, according to the latest Associated Press-GfK poll. […]

The poll found that Democrats tend to express more faith in the government’s ability to protect them than do Republicans. Yet even among Democrats, just 27 percent are confident the government can keep them safe from terrorist attacks. Fewer than 1 in 5 say so on each of the other issues, including climate change. […]

Urbanites tend to be more confident the government will keep them safe from terrorist threats than do people living in suburbs and rural areas. Younger Americans are more confident than older people that the government can minimize the threat of mass shootings. When it comes to quelling racial tensions, Hispanics are more confident than are blacks and whites. …

When TSHTF and the ferals kill one another off, we can raze the cities and plant more food - for we rural folk to enjoy.

It’s a Win/Win! :)

See? If the Uniparty RINOcrats HD any principles at all, they would recognize this great opportunity to invoke for American values of limited government and free markets and turn this country around. But they won’t do that because they don’t be believe in those things.

“Americans lack confidence in the government’s ability to protect their personal safety and economic security”

Anyone who believes that the Obama Administration is trying to protect them is so stupid that they probably need to be supported by their parents and/or handouts from taxpayers.

If something goes terribly wrong, such as anarchy or pandemic, all civilian concerns become local, small group and volunteer.

Where will government be? At their lake houses, hunkered down.

Ntl security is a myth with the braindead crew we have at the state dept.

Just the other day, ignoramus Psaki said: "ISIS surprised itself" w/ its ability to take so
much territory in such a short time.

I guess ding-dong Psaki regularly communicates w/ ISIS to get such valuable "inside information."

===========================================================

And we have this monitoring our ntl security.

The "Glittering Jewel of Colossal Ignorance" is having a bad hair day. Or is that a bad wig?

The more appropriate poll question is "Does Government even want to protect us?"

The events of this regime have shown the answer is a clear "no!" Unless you are a member of favored race which pays homage to the regime, a criminal, druggie, gang-banger or well-connected politician (but I repeat myself), then you are a second class citizen, whose only function is to pay up and shut up.

First of all, it's not government's job to protect us. We're big boys and girls; we can protect ourselves ... as long as government gets the he__ out of the way and let's us.

Secondly, if we're talking about a liberal government, the answer is "NO!" Liberals can't even protect themselves. They are sniveling worms whose idea of protection is to make sure their attackers don't hurt their fists banging them against their victims' skulls.

Thirdly, in the time it's going to take to navel-gaze over this stupid question, you could have gone out and bought more ammo or even another carry pistol. What's wrong with you?

Funny how AP asks loaded questions in its polls, isn’t it?

Government is to occupied with building its own controlling power structure, to be bothered with the safety of the American people, any and all rhetoric to the contrary is a canard.

This is the question they should be asking themselves:

"Can we protect ourselves from the government?"

No, people, the government can’t protect you or help you, it can only hurt you

Yes. It would be interesting to know where they will go when it becomes clear to the public that no one in government knows what they are doing. It may be a good thing that people do not trust government for, then, they might be more inclined to think about how they can provide more safety for themselves.

“Poll: Americans worry—can government protect us?”

The question is not if they can. Its why are not even trying and/or purposely putting us at risk?
