Looks like Obola is on the menu today.
Dr. Tom Frieden and Fauci says let the Ebola patients in
to America .... but will not take 4 apiece to their homes.
Similarly, the White House and the US Congress should
each, also, take 4 patients since they DEMAND OTHERS DO IT.
Ayotte, McCarthy and Graham. Way to go GOP. These are the articulate champions of limited constitutional government and individual liberty that we want espousing our positions on national tv. /sarc
Morning AB....all.
Not much going on here in the swamps as life goes along as crazy as ever.
I am super concerned about this Ebola thing and I don’t think I’m alone. This administration has failed at everything to include running the VA, abusing the IRS, rolling out Obama care.
anyone who thinks this ebola thing won’t get out of control, I got a bridge to sell....cheap.
Anyway, thank you AB, as always, for doing this thread.
Looking forward to the excellent commentary only available on this thread.
I’m jus’ sayin’.
I know there are comparisons of the US military members and spending compared to the rest of the world; does anybody hear know of comparable statistics for our recognized debt compared to the other countries? Thanks.
(Yes, I know; I am comparatively out of synonyms today, so I keep using variations of the same word. Off to a slow start.)
You might survive Ebola, you won’t survive decapitation, suspicious that Ebola travel is being allowed to distract from terrorist news coverage.
Call it a new “Surge” in Iraq.
Will it be more successful than the first “Surge”, and/or the “Surge” in Afghanistan?
There’s no need to be a declaration of war for Syria because this Democrat President is being allowed to use the Military at his own individual discretion, not allowing for Commanders on the ground to provide the strategy.
And an honest option is to declare truce with Syria, with notice of Assad allowing freedom, a Constitution, and an election(without him on the ballot) within X years.
Now, there is the doctor of smarts when it comes to national security. Guess they didn't have enough time to get Queen Sheila Jackson Lee on the same day.
Duncan has gone from critical to serious, and back to critical.
British airlines has suspended all flights to and from South Africa. Doctor thinks they shouldn’t do that because it “amplifies the problem”.
10,000 people have flown out of Liberia since outbreak, only two screened when getting off the plane.
Doctor thinks Ebola coming across Mexican border a far fetched scenario
Doesn’t know how long virus can live on a doorknob, but Ebola is “fragile”, probably less than two days. Can Ebola mutate to become air transmittable since it is already doing things that it didn’t before (human to human contact)
Scientific evidence shows we won’t have an “outbreak” because of our healthcare system.
By the way,
Good Morning every one, thanks for the great thread AB.
On FOX NEWS SUNDAY, a good review of the many mistakes
made, as those in charge speak disingenuously
as each puts the blame elsewhere,
if the risk is considered at all.
Judge Jenkins (Dallas) is proud he used no protective
gear, and did it because “(he cared) about their safety”. ?
He was reassured that he was “safe” without citing a source.
The Judge cannot see a virus risk, only heroes,
and he says all are “safe” including first responders
without protective gear. ??
“There is panic out there, but there are lot of heroes”.
He confuses “monitoring twice a day” with protection,
and ends with a smile.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, infectious disease chief
at the National Institutes of Health
On the Dallas pt: “(He is getting) good critical care”.
“ZMAPP is not available.”
He knows nothing personally about this case, he admits.
He says he has “no privy knowledge”.
[Why is he talking, then?]
In general, he says, just monitor twice a day,
and then isolate.
He “does not know” percentages, but then gives
percentages to attempt to assuage fear.
Q: British airlines suspended all flights, should we?
Fauci: “No. Isolation makes unrest in other countries”.
[He cares about Africa incredibly. US? Not so much.]
Q: 10K people have flown out, and only 2 have been screened. How effective is that?
Fauci: “(One only needs to) Do an exit screen.
You will not be 100% risk free.” [He does not care].
Q: Regarding spread:
He claims that when you are not symptomatic you
cannot spread (ignoring sexual transmission, ignoring
latent disease, ignoring persistent disease,
ignoring filovirus in fomites, ignoring its latency
in other primates, etc.).
Q: What about the southern border?
He is not worried, more worried about Africa
and global warming.
Q: How long are (Ebola) fluids infectious?
Fauci: “We don’t know. ... You can get it from funerals
by touching the body. “
[This makes many of his other comments disingenuous].
Q: You say there is no air transmission, but others (disagree)
Fauci: “I am loathe to discuss it publicly.
... Anything can happen ... It is extremely rare.”
[Equivocation, denial, and attention is directed
to the fact that: EV-68 was once “rare”, too. ]
Juan will not answer one question about the incompetence of Obama and rambles on about Wall Street and the branding of the Republican Party. What an idiot.
It appears the feds are in a full court press to quell the rising panic of Ebola.
If we had decent control over our borders and had already stopped people from coming here from these Ebola stricken countries unless they observed a proper quarantine period, we would be discussing something else today and continuing to fight it "over there".
Not surprisingly, there is almost no discussion of what our troops are doing these days in Liberia and how that operation is going. I would wager $100 we are going to require a quarantine on those troops on the ground there before we let them back into this country. But the Joe Smurfs who have Liberian passports and visas? Nah! They are free to fly in every day as long as somebody takes their temperature at the boarding gate.
This is a disaster in the making and that cake is already in the oven baking on HIGH. Frieden and Fauci are trying to forestall the panic and put a happy face on this total screw up instead. They are not trying to alleviate the problem by taking all the necessary steps. They oppose this and no doubt it is for political reasons (open borders, amnesty, etc.).
This will not end well, I fear. This is what happens when Political Correctness and hubris meets stone cold reality. In the end, reality always wins.
I think Ebola will be the October Surprise in this year's election. Death from government inactivity has a way of focusing voter attention. Ebola, along with Obama's sons beheading Caucasians in ISIS land, is actually being covered by the media and there is no attempt in the media to downplay the consequences, except when the media spouts Obama admin posi-chatter.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Roundtable talks.
Van Jones? (Doesn’t he have a credibility gap with being a self declared Communist, Mr. Stephanopoulus?)
Director of the Secret Service resigns. (Wrong resignation, should have been who was on guard duty and their immediate supervisor, Democrat war on Woman in play.)
Election talk. (Boring)
China/Hong Kong
Economy - (Have you check the Labor Force Participation rate, Mr. Stephanopoulus?)
Jack Lew, Treasury Secretary - infrastructure, education, minimum wage, “make policy - more policy to write, nobody should write off the next 2 years” (Anybody paying attention to the details of this faux recovery has, the loss of full-time work compared to the gain of part-timers should be a clue, Jack, but don’t think Democrat shill and host Mr. Stephanopoulus would challenge you on details.)
Better late than never, but it's nice when someone sees the light.
The imminent ebola crisis (and yes, I believe it will be such, and further, that it has been deliberately contrived) compels me to make the effort to try to be helpful in whatever small sense I can.
Accordingly, I offer the link below to a special web page from "Science" magazine (updated daily) which is intended to serve as a sort of clearing house of information about this issue. I hope it will prove helpful.

My HTML is rusty, but here's a stab at an active link:

Best wishes and hopes to you all, that God will see you safely through the coming troubles.
So what did the CDC liar say this morning?
