MONROVIA, LiberiaAshoka Mukpo, an American freelance journalist diagnosed with Ebola, and the NBC News team he worked with here will be flown to the U.S., as the epidemic sweeping West Africa continues to have international repercussions.
Mr. Mukpo is scheduled to be picked up Sunday night in Liberia and will be transported to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, his father, Mitchell Levy, said Friday

Your stupid burns Ansel. I notice no one here seems likeminded to your cause. Might want to consider that a bit.
So you know where China has it's bio 4 labs and how they construct them, yet China doesn't have any bio 4 labs yet, and is only now building their first one.
Would you share your source?
"The facility, which has been under construction since July 2011, has been billed as the first in China that will be equipped to handle Class 4 pathogens (P4) - dangerous viruses that pose a high risk of airborne person-to-person transmission, which can include haemorrhagic fevers such as Ebola.
The laboratory in Wuhan, Hubei province, was built in cooperation with French bio-industrial firm Institut Merieux and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It joins just a handful of labs around the world cleared to handle the most highly pathogenic germs."
Crack some CIA factbooks Ansel. Crack something. Just get off the crack. It’s bad m’kay?
You do know that normalcy bias can get you killed and denial is not a river in Egypt.
You don’t have a source, and never had a source, you just throw stuff out there.
I made the mistake of trying to inform you on a simple piece of information.

**Gee...what military base in Nebraska is absolutely crucial to operations. I cannot for the life of me think why someone would send an ebola victim to a place close to it...**
Nebraska is the home of one of our 4 special infectious diseases clinics, which are all placed close to major bio research centers.

As a 40 year survivalist, and lifelong prepper, I don’t have that problem.
Ansel, you told me none existed and then you yourself posted evidence they did.
Case closed.
There have been multiple breaches resulting in contagion escaping at US Level 4 bio facilities in the last several years, one recently.
It is not a matter of increased risk, it is a demonstrated fact that it can happen.
So, co-locating critical infrastructure with these labs is not prudent.
You can’t even try to explain how you know where all their bio 4 facilities are and that they are underground yet they are just getting ready to open their first one.
You were just making up your claims of about them.
“Chinas first high-security biosafety laboratory will be ready for use by December”
Having a military base in the same state is not a threat, and there is no conspiracy to take out that Air Force base in Nebraska by sending this Ebola patient to the Ebola clinic there.
There is also no conspiracy in locating our bio research labs where they are.
Never mentioned the word conspiracy, you are a thread in a biscuit over it.
I said not prudent , like storing all your high value assets together in a hostile environment. There are better ways to do it.
Thanks for the ping!
I wasn’t just addressing your exact words, but the post theme that you appeared to be agreeing with.
We do have a bio 4 research center in the state of Nebraska, and a single Air Force base, that doesn’t seem so crowded to me, and one isn’t at threat from the other.
So now we aren’t even taking them to our CDC specialist centers, just bringing them stateside, are we?
Because that hospital has more isolation ward beds than almost any other hospital. Much better equipped for such cases than Presbyterian in Dallas where the guy who came in on his own was taken.
Duncan didn't report to a hospital, and when he did, they sent him home, where he exposed a bunch more people. Then when he got really bad, he exposed an ambulance crew.
This latest guy will be taken directly to a very well equipped hospital, and they already know he's infected, so will be taking great care in handling him along the way. The Dallas guy traveled as an ordinary passenger. Exposing a whole planeload, or several.
Ever been in the former SAC underground command post? I have, several times, as engineering student, AFROTC cadet, and later as a reservist attached to a SAC unit.
Cheyenne Mountain is much more important and better protected. Or it was, before it was basically shutdown and put into "warm standby". With it's remaining functions moved to Peterson AFB, in a basement.
But the SAC command post was pretty much obsolete when I was there, the last time in 1976. It's no longer survivable. It's not deep enough for one thing.
Not just the same state, the same metro area. Offutt AFB is just south of Omaha, and it's just under 11 miles from the command post.
Well heck you're in good shape then. I'm only about 75 minutes from downtown Dallas, and my brother is less than hour from Omaha, and he frequently goes there in his job.. like more than once a week.
Which is meaningless.
Go look at the DC area and all that is around them.
