Allegations of welfare fraud have surfaced in the 19th District state Senate race.

On Tuesday, Fayetteville attorney and Democrat Billy Richardson called a press conference, where he provided the media with public and private financial records tied to his opponent, Senator Wesley Meredith (R-NC).

The documents allege Meredith, a Fayetteville business owner, committed welfare fraud in the late 90s, when he and his now ex-wife, Elizabeth, were making annual incomes in the six-figure range. The couple separated in 1997.

This is why a lot of people do not seek Public office, they are afraid of their closets. Do not know if true are not, but a lot of people did things in the past they regret.

Sources tell ABC11 that the former Mrs. Meredith provided the private documents, to include WIC receipts, to the Richardson campaign. Most of the other documents are public record.

KuhRayZee Bitchitis.

So, now you are a moralist, honey? Babe?

You committed the act, then after the statue of limitations and just to get a little pay back, your conscience compels you to come forward?

Hope your broom catches fire, while you are on it.

Allegations of corruption[edit]

During the 2012 trial United States of America v. Carollo, Goldberg and Grimm, the former CPR employee Doug Goldberg testified that he was involved in giving Bill Richardson campaign contributions amounting to $100,000 in exchange for his company CPR being hired to handle a $400 million swap deal for the New Mexico state government. During his testimony, Doug Goldberg stated that he had been given an envelope containing a check for $25,000 payable to Moving America Forward, Bill Richardson’s political action committee, by his boss Stewart Wolmark and told to deliver it to Bill Richardson at a fund raiser. When Goldberg handed the envelope to Richardson, he allegedly told Goldberg to “Tell the big guy [Steward Wolmark] I’m going to hire you guys”. Goldberg went on to testify that CPR was hired but that he later learned that another firm was hired by Richardson to perform the actual work required and that Steward Wolmark had given Richardson a further $75,000 in contributions.[60]

this crook first worked for the CLINTONS then got on the MUSLIM COMMIE bandwagon..He is working for someone now..MAYBE Hillary or someone OBAMA wants for president..

You are right these are two different men.what they have in common is they are both democrats.I see old Bill is behind in the polls so he had to find something to get his numbers up..

Meredith said his marriage was failing in 1996. He said he and his wife slept in separate bedrooms and rarely communicated. They separated in November 1996, not long after their son’s birth in September

He would not say whether he thought his wife enrolled their son without his knowledge, but he did point out that the documents show Medicaid cards using her maiden name.

Three Medicaid cards show that the son was enrolled in a Medicaid program for children from Sept. 1, 1996, to Sept. 30, 1997.

Beth Meredith has declined to comment.

Maybe she got a good payday from the democrat party..so she can’t comment.
