Joe Joe Jallah said he met the man diagnosed with Ebola, Thomas Eric Duncan, last week when visiting Jallahs former wife, Louise Troh, the same woman Duncan had come to see in the U.S... Jallah left to go to work, but returned the next day after his daughter, who lives with Troh, called, sounding frantic, saying that Duncan was still ill.

Just great - feels like bio terrorism.
Lots of mistakes were made, but probably the same as Nigeria and they scored a success. We will know in a week, definitely in two whether Duncan infected anyone besides his "partner" and step? kids in the apartment. I'm still not particularly worried about this one event, but rather the 13,500 visa holders that are yet to come. They need to rescind all of them.
terrorism is when they put the virus into a sprayer and bring it to the ball park.
No, they aren’t in the apartment. The people in the apartment are Louise (the girlfriend), her 13 year old son, and two nephews. Why her daughter is not there is beyond me. She was there as he was getting sicker and sicker. Jallah, the guy giving the interview, isn’t quarantined, either.
No, they aren’t in the apartment...see post 24.
Seriously.
No mention of daughter or kids - Louise, a 13 year old son and 2 nephews in their 20’s are in quarantine apartment. The others have disappeared. I guess, add magician to Obama’s many titles.

"...quarantine period."

Even animals and produce are checked before coming into many Western European countries. Animals are quarantined and produce seized and destroyed.
You are right on self-reporting on a survey - just shows how lax we are on protecting US citizens.
Shut borders and persona non grata for African counties until Ebola "burns out".
We obviously can't handle the problems we already have with Ebola, TB, etc.
He lied and if he lives he should face consequences for that.

Duncan was screened three times before he boarded his flight in Liberia to Brussels, Kesselly said.
“The first screening was at the gate, before you get to the parking lot. The second time is before you enter the terminal building and the third is before you board the flight. At every point your temperature is scanned.”
His temperature at those checkpoints was a consistent 97.3 degrees Fahrenheit, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention chief Thomas Frieden told reporters Thursday. “Basically, he didn’t have a fever,” Frieden said, noting that the Ebola patient’s temperature was taken by a trained CDC health care worker with a thermometer approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
terrorism doesn’t need to be that obvious - can be 3 - 4 little school kids showing up with deadly contagious virus
It started out as 6 kids had been in close contact with Duncan but then it was lowered to 5. There is one 13 yo kid inside the apartment. The nephews in the apt. are 20 something grown adult men, not school children. If the 3 kids the CDC removed from their classes yesterday in Richardson ISD were some of the 5/6 kids then we’re still missing 1/2.

Reminds me of that guy who had AIDS and intentionally had sex with women just to give them AIDS.

If they aren’t smart enough to get proper permits, how smart are they at cleaning and what else will they forget to follow through with? Fine, most permits are nothing but a gov fee but with something this serious a permit is a good idea.
Sheeeeesh! Is there anybody in Dallas who DIDN’T stop by this apartment to visit this guy????
“Frieden said, noting that the Ebola patients temperature was taken by a trained CDC health care worker with a thermometer approved by the Food and Drug Administration.”
Nice soundbite. Looks good on paper, but the worker is not educated, and not “trained” in the sense of the word as we know it. It was just another local Liberian hack drawing a small paycheck from the government.
I see it as delays by government, not by the company.
One would think being in the US would wise them up a bit so they wouldn’t keep going back to visit a sick guy just out of Africa. Maybe that sounds elitist but geez. Yes, lots of questions about so many second and third hand people but maybe, just maybe the only thing the CDC has right is those so far removed are safe. As Ms. Neroes from the Dallas County Health and Human Services said, “This is a big spider web.”
