A man who jumped the White House fence allegedly knocked over a female officer at the mansion's double doors before he dashed into the ornate East Room.
An inquiry continues into how Omar Gonzalez, 42, made it into the White House. Investigators are looking through an elaborate closed-circuit video system showing the entire incident, a Secret Service source told CNN.
Authorities said the Iraq war veteran had a knife in his pocket when he ran into the White House, where he was later subdued after a wild chase.
The officer he met at the doorway got up, chased him and tackled him just outside the East Room, a source said.

An alarm box had been turned down near the front door after complaints by the White House usher's office that it was too loud. A canine unit was not released to chase Gonzalez because there were "too many friendlies around," the source said.

Luckily for the Secret Service the intruder’s semi-automatic pocket knife was locked in the “safe” position.
How could he knock over a female officer? Wasn’t he told women are just as tough as a policeman?
Between McKinley and Kennedy there were no successful assassinations. Wonder why?

Other sources have said that an off-duty agent coming inside from the rear of the White House caught the man and tackled him in the East Room, NOT the female front door guard.
Anyone else see that?
I thought the agent that tackled him was an off-duty member of the daughters security detail?
Female agents gets knocked down... yea, sounds about right.

How upset are we supposed to be? The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR are in the Whitehouse on a weekly basis. Whose worse, them or a guy with folded knife in his pocket?

Seriously, we had better get a handle on this. Someone said before it is a real possibility that a dozen motivated jihadis with explosives could rush the place after seeing this breach.
I don’t care who sits in the WH or their politics but we cannot aford to have our command decapitated with poor security features.
Good gosh. Most military bases have a card entry reader for certain cleared personnel to enter. With all the waste in government, you’d think they could add one to the main white hut entrance.
They have made a point not to mention it was a female that got knocked over.

The congressman said two people inside the agency told him that boxes were silenced because the White House usher staff, whose office is near the front door, complained they were noisy. A Secret Service official told The Post that the usher’s office was concerned the boxes were frequently malfunctioning and unnecessarily sounding off.
The alarm boxes, which officers call ‘crash boxes,’ are key pieces of the agency’s first-alert system, according to former agents and officials. If they spot an intruder, officers are trained to hit the large red button on the nearest box — sending an alert to every post on the complex about the location of an incursion and piping sound from that location to other boxes around the property.
‘If true, the fact that crash boxes were muted to avoid being ‘disruptive’ is not due to a lack of resources or an insufficient number of checkpoints or barriers,’ Chaffetz said.’”
